SPECULATION Rey is a Kenobi. The Parallel of Rey's story is with Obi-Wan, not Luke.

No way. Her life parallels Anakin's and Luke's, but especially Anakin.

 

I feel like Mark Hamill would drop one of his #Dontoverthinkit's here. Maybe her story parallels all three in some ways because it's Star Wars and she is a force using character? It really is HIGHLY possible she isn't related to any of them. I'm not saying it's more likely she is or isn't but ...what are we going to say if she isn't? Her story parallels other characters for no reason? I think until we know for sure its safe to say her story in different ways parallels a lot of the other force using leads we have in seen in the Star Wars universe and that isn't getting us any closer to figuring anything out.

 

I don't think that Rey is a descendant of Obi-Wan-Kenobi. But I do have an excellent working theory on who Rey and Snoke actually are. mod edit

I'm telling you korkie is a son that she hid from obi wan because he wanted to be a Jedi

Korkie was/is completely unaware he was/is obi-Wans son.

You are never told who his dad or mom are. He looks like a mix of Satine and obi wan right down to having a mix of red and blonde hair.

If she is the descendent of obi wan and Satine that would make her royalty, hidden/left to live like a scavenger like Anastasia

 

Rey HAVES to be a Skywalker or at least cloned from Luke's DNA.

We are loosing to much of the bloodline in the story & real world!

I asked Forrest Gump if Rey was a Kenobi or a Skywalker. His response was:


Her father's family: Skywalkers: Luke , Leia (aunt), Anakin (grandpa).
Her mother's family: Kenobi. Unknown Obi-wan's daughter (mom), Obi-wan (grandpa)

Another point to consider: in Spanish, Rey means King. It could be another hint about her royal lineage. In this scenario, she would have two royal blood: Queen Satine and former Queen Amidala, both grandmas.

The unknown Obi-wan's daughter strongest candidate for me would be Sabine. Most people say that can't be true because she said her mom was death watch, and she is alive. We will see the two of them meeting shortly in SW Rebels. However, we should consider that most key characters in SW are not raised by her real parents: Luke (raised by uncle & aunt), Leia (adoptive parents), Rey (no idea), Finn (stormtropper program), Anakin (didn't know his father and left his mom at age 9). So, it's still a possible scenario that Sabine was raised by an adoptive mother, who may be the only who knows her true linage. Sabine's age places her birth before Episode III, making her a potential candidate for a Kenobi-Satine offpring. The other resistance I hear for Sabine not being a Kenobi is because she is not Force-sensitive. This shouldn't be a problem. Most Jedi were not Force-sensitive since birth. So, perhaps her Force-sensitiveness could come in the future.

If that's true, then we will need to bridge Sabine and Rey. Rey's age places her birth after Episode VI, meaning Sabine would need to survive SW Rebels, all the way to Episode VI. Perhaps, after meeting Luke, Sabine turned into Captain Phasma? Both of them like shiny armors and weapons. I know Phasma is blond, 6'3", non-Asian, but in SW, they can use their magic when they want. Sabine's hair colour changes every year. Her transformation to Phasma could make her "more machine than woman" as another parallel to Vader, and make her a bit taller with new metallic limbs. Perhaps she lost her limbs in a domestic fight with a depressed husband that happened to own a green lightsaber, and joined the First Order to help the nephew in the quest to get revenge to her estranged husband.

How does this affect Finn? As we know, Rey is Finn's love interest, and Phasma hates Finn. So, Finn has now a conflict with her future mother-in-law!! Remember, SW is a space opera. Groom & mother-in-law dynamics are always part of any good opera...
