This could literally fit any reveal that everyone has suggested at one time or another.

How does this CONFIRM REY SOLO. Hint maybe & that is stretching it as I guess at this point she is trying to convince Luke to even start thinking about training her by trying to convince him that she is nothing like him.

Haha absolutely. They are the same, Luke sees them as same, same blood , same unpredictable Skywalker/Solo bloody risk to be trained.

Haha confirmed, I am going to drunk myself tonight.

In the case of Looper, Johnson made the protagonist's (JGL) older self from the future (Bruce Willis) as the villain with an attempt at a sympathetic backstory: the death of his wife. He attempted to make the other older unseen villain (Rainmaker) sympathetic as well as a child (real name Cid) with the death of his mother (Sara) by the hand of future Joe (Bruce Willis) who traveled to the past.

Rian Johnson: "[Old Joe] around his wife, Cid around Sara. It's just characters being motivated by their love for another character [in Looper]" (May 21, 2013)

Love for dead characters as the backstories and driven by revenge and anger in the present stories.

He won't say it now - just as he kept the backstories for those Looper characters secret pre-release - but 'Rey' being Kylo Ren's 'dead' sister returned fits with that type of story.

    "shocking revelations of the past"
"the big thematic push and pull in the movie is the past and what role the past has in moving us forward into the future” (2)

    @McDiarmid , seriously.

Please stop posting about contents of TV Spots and other promotional pieces without spoiler tags.

This thread is not tagged as containing spoilers. There’s no reason for myself, or anyone else, to assume that they’ll see anything spoiled for them in posts such as yours.

And yet, here are your posts, without spoiler tags in a thread that isn’t tagged with the caution that it is containing spoiler tags (note: it shouldn’t have to be).

Please make a point to edit your posts so that these items are hidden in spoiler tags.

It feels disrespectful to your fellow Star Wars fans: we’re still some around 20 days from the worldwide premiere, so of course none of us have left the Internet yet to hide from things such as these.

Some, like myself, plan on avoiding TV Spots and international trailers up until we leave the Internet a few days before the worldwide premiere.

I hope that you understand where I’m coming from, as a fellow fan, and are kind enough to edit your posts accordingly.

Trailer has been internationaly released. The words of Rey and scene of Luke crying is intergral part of international trailer seen by countles people all around the world.

    Argument does not hold.

Participation on this respected forum inevitably incluides been spoiled by trailers. Participating on this forum and having contempt of spoilers is a paradox and an intellectual fallacy, thus dishonest.

Your argument is not valid to me personally.

Spoiler edit of my post is arbitraty and I do not want to comment it.

Twisted by the dark side young McDiarmid has become. The boy we debated, gone he is - consumed by this ludicrous theory.

    ah.... nevermind...

    However it is discouraging.

I just prepared to start an elaborate about groundbreaking revelations from newest canon book "Legends of Luke Skywalker"( top recommendation to buy it , in my opinion best book of the new canon)

However, those who "despise" spoilers have just prevented this community to get first ever, deepest and most originaly and sophysticated(and absolutely spoiling) analyisis of that book which I just have read, and have limited this (their own) Cantina to be what it should and could be, - forefront of the understanding of Star Wars lore.

It explains ton of things to an inquisitive eye.

Ken Liu has delivered it almost all....

Luke is not crying. It is light coming through his hood. Watch tv spot #6. At 25 sec it's there then gone. It just light. Truth and fact

Uh, mods (are @Pomojema or @Addi Ras around?), could you please spoiler tag @McDiarmid’s and others’ comments regarding the content of the TV spot, or otherwise add a spoiler classification to the thread?

I think I’ve asked politely enough, but @McDiarmid doesn’t seem to share my perspective that they should spoiler tag such items to be respectful to other fans.

This entire thread is as I am concerned spoiler from the day 1 (post 1).

I have said it and I stay behind my statement. It has however been considered and treated as minority (unlikely) theory I do not see the reason in changing the aproach.

Also I do not look nor I participate in threads that dees not interest me, why would you not use the same solution to your problem?

Except Rey Solo is an opinion (albeit one you have every right to have) of a possible outcome, and it’s something that’s been discussed ever since before TFA was released.

I’m more upset, for lack of a better term, about how openly the TV spots are being talked about, as I know that myself and many others here wish to get through to the film without having seen them/knowledge of what their contents are.

By all means, it is spoiling people’s intents to go into the film without knowledge of the TV spots.

As I said you are contradicting you very reason of participating on this forum.

People who came to this Cantina are not ordinary public, but Star Wars fans, who came here predominantly I am sure to lurk about things.

Please juts look Start page and INVITATION FOR LURKERS?

And Lurkers are luring for--what? Not to be spoiled?

In fact you are telling to Lurkers to go, since even Trailers are forbidden to be anaylised here, in a Star Wars Cantina?

Anyway my IQ! tells me this is try to freeze thread, no it stays I do not respond more... for one purpose....

NO THERE NOT YOU CAN DISCUSS THEM JUST PUT THEM BEHIND A SPOILER TAG ITS NOT THAT DIFFICULT . THAT WAY YOU ARE GIVING THE MEMBER A CHOICE IF THEY WANT TO BE SPOILED OR NOT. ALSO HAVING A LINK TO A TV SPOT IS VERY DIFFRENT FROM DISCUSSING THE CONTENT OF A TV SPOT.-

    What @FN-3263827 says

Can you please confirm / repeat your statement.

Analysis of officiai Star Wars public trailer must be put under spoiler tag in a Star Wars cantina, Star Wars News Net?
