    the only powerful Force users in the galaxy that aren't random are Anakin, Luke, and Ben.

    literally every other Force user (some extremely powerful) is random:
    Yoda. Obi-Wan. Bendu. Palpatine. Dooku. Ventress. Mace. Ahsoka. Aya. Snoke. etc. etc. etc.

    I don't think the Skywalker family is the only family in the galaxy with powerful Force sensitive, good pilots/mechanics.

    And the point you all miss...

    Those people had YEARS of training. YEARS!

    Obi-Wan had Yoda and Qui-Gon, had fought a Sith Lord 3 Times, been through wars....

    Mace? Trained.

    Ashoka? Trained. (By a Skywalker I might add)

    The idea that the daughter of some random imperials could Force pull, Mind trick, block Kylo’s probes, fly the Falcon like an expert (when she says she’s never flown off planet before, btw), AND stand toe-to-toe with Vader’s grandson in a fight is ludicrous.

    It’s not that she has to be part of a bloodline.

    It’s that in order for her to do what she does UNTRAINED, barely aware of the Force or Jedi 2 days earlier....there has to be a better explanation than random.

    Do you understand the logic?

    i understand what you're saying, but you've got a stranglehold on the "rules" of this universe as if this universe actually has rules.
    not to mention, there are such things as child prodigies in our world, so why not in a gffa?
    plus, she was rooting around in Ren's head and we know they likely have a pretty serious Force bond
    (the implications of which are mysterious to us as of yet).

    you want to say it's an open and shut case.
    the rest of us are saying maybe we shouldn't bank on it if we've been promised something new and different and unexpected.

    Rey to Finn in the movie "I've flown some ships, but I've never left the planet" just after the Falcon/TIE scene.

    Rey has already repaired and piloted a freighter similar to the Falcon before TFA, from the canon books "Before the Awakening" and "Rey's Survival Guide":

    "I've flown lots of ships, at least by simulator. And one real ship, for a little while -- a Ghtroc 690 freighter."

    and in the movie she knows that the Falcon has not flown for years, she knows the reparations/modifications of Unkar Plutt in the ship so maybe this is not the first time in TFA that she's inside the Falcon and repairs the ship.

    She learned mechanics on Jakku with all the ships crashed, and she's not perfect in mechanics, remember the "wrong fuses" and the escape of the Rathtars ? That's because of her. And also not perfect in flying things, remember when she "crash" into a "building" with the Falcon or touch the ground with it?

    She's trained to melee combat with her staff as seen in the movie in the scene Rey's vs. Unkar's thugs, remember that Jakku is a hostile planet and Rey is a survivor, she's alone, she has no family on Jakku, not like Anakin or Luke on Tatooine in Episode 1 or 4, Anakin was with Shmi, Luke with Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru (ok little Rey is with Unkar in the Force vision but he's horrible with her as seen in the movie).

    And remember that Kylo don't want to kill her (has compassion for her in the canon novelization) and has been shot with Chewie's bowcaster and just killed his father (and is weakened by the act according to the official script).

    Wow, that was a lot to digest. Some initial impressions.
    Don't worry guys. IMO It was incredible. Never had 2 and a half hours fly by so quickly. Probably won't come as a surprise when I say its darker and more serious compared with TFA. TFA also moved at a brisk pace while TLJ almost takes its time, but definitely wouldn't say its slow. That soundtrack! Also its a very nice looking movie, loved the vfx as usual.
    Also you may have to give TFA a rewatch.

    Leaked details I got by message board. .Open by the risk of spoiling your film experience (part of the film).Its serious and it looks to me likely genuine .It has nothing to do with Rey Solo subject though , do not need to open it for that purpose...but I felt desire to share it when I have it already, do not know where to put a post.....
    Leaked description of some of the happenings of the first act of the film according to people who sough the film in Japan.The fight between the Resistance and FO is mainly known , ...FO firstly defeats resistance than chase its remnants in the dirrection of Crate..Leia seriously injured by decompression after hull breach of battleship Raddus..
    Ahch-To: Rey is absolutely rejected by Luke . She follows him for days on Ahch-To, he even do not want to speak with her, only some brief talk with Chewy...Luke throws the Light saber Rey gave to him, throws it over the cliff into the sea..Rey goes to find saber in water and finds wreck of Luke's old X-wing under the water.Rey follows silently Luke for days,researching the island on her own in the meantime, and observing Luke's routine of fishing and milking local creature .Rey founds tree with books in it, there Luke finds her and its a tense scene between them. And than R2D2 helps her by re-posting ancient Leia's message "Help me Obi-Wan" to Luke, which changes the heart of Luke. Still he is not willing to give her approval to train.Luke doesn't know anything about Han's death.Rey than goes into a Dark Side cave near sea level on the far edge of the Island without knowledge of Luke, she found the cave before and Luke tells her its Dark side cave and for she do not enter it..no more details.

    I believe this is absolutely legit...when compared to children's books, VD, first 10 minute leak etc. It all holds up even if it is vague.

    I also could literally have typed all that up FROM the VD and children’s book leaks and said I saw the movie...

    If that source really saw it, they’d spoil the rest and not just want conveniently came out in the last 48 hours.

    You are right, I checked your claim, in fact that children's book leak reveals many more details...its like watching a movie....

    Why did the made this book so clumsy and early, if people obtain entire book leak, end they obviously will , it would be entire film leaked trough childrens' book..

    Speaking to Rolling Stone, Johnson isn’t willing to indulge in a surprise for the sake of a surprise. So, don’t go expecting Rey to be the progeny of a wild and steamy affair between Jar-Jar Binks and Leia. And don’t Google that, for the love of God.

    "What does it mean to [Rey], what does it mean to us. I really, really believe that [the reveal of Rey’s parents] has to be rooted in something that has an emotional impact, and that's the only thing that matters,” Johnson says, “Surprise is fine, but surprise by itself is cheap.”

    Johnson even rolls back to the years to Star Wars’ big parental reveal to hammer home his point: “The emotional and deeply-rooted resonance of 'I am your father' is why we remember it. Not because, 'Oh my god, I never would have [guessed] that he was.”

    I think we can all get caught up sometimes in the thicket of theories surrounding the core of a film like The Last Jedi. Sure, it’s fun to guess and prod the cast and crew a little when it comes to revealing a little more than they should but, in the history of storytelling, a good story never has been a great narrative because of one shock reveal.

    Rey’s parents will probably be someone we know, but that shouldn’t be disappointing or delightful in and of itself. This is Rey’s story, not Rey’s parents’ story – and Rian Johnson is only too keen to point that out.

    I have difficulty to perceive what is going on with some people here and why I was forced to carry this "cross"and carry it still.Like I am creating a false reality? I am just interpretig the reality.

    Reality is this:
    Rey's parents are known Star Wars characters,this is revealed in TLJ.Rey Random is not reality.ReyLo is not a reality,no major romance.Rey another Skywalker heir is neccessity and inevitability,the reality and is here now.
