    Someone posted this on the TFN boards.

    Rey Random would leave these questions unanswered:

    Why were Natalie Portman/Carrie Fisher lookalikes singled out at casting events?

    Why does much of the TFA concept art depict the protagonist as having the looks of a SkySolo offspring (as does the actress cast)?

    Why did Han and Leia split before the Academy massacre, despite Han being described as a family man until a "profound tragedy" struck?

    Why did Maryann Brandon say that there was a version of the story where Leia knew who Rey was (and why was this bit conveniently edited out of the video interview)?

    Why go out of your way to keep Rey's parentage a secret if there is nothing to it? (Why did J.J backtrack on his claim that Rey's parents aren't in TFA?)

    they didn't. i don't know where this weird rumor started, but Han & Leia are still together when Ben falls. Ben's fall is the "profound tragedy".​

    it was probably edited because it wasn't accurate. people say wrong things sometimes (see also below).​

    fandom made it a big deal. there is no secret. Rey was abandoned on Jakku by people who will probably ultimately be irrelevant to the plot.

    none of these questions need to be answered any further than that to be fully satisfied.
    it's the fans who have turned this into some wild conspiracy. the answer is likely a lot simpler.

    The film was projected today in France to some journalists (the movie will be released december 13 in this country), here who is Rey and what happened with her parents:

    -daughter of 2 scavengers of Jakku, she is born on Jakku
    -they sold Rey
    -they are dead

    I haven't followed these events close enough to comment on the accuracy, but assuming these statements are correct, I would says these point to the notion that Rey was originally intended to be clearly related to Leia and Kylo, however at some point in the production it was changed to either a)make it a secret/surprise reveal, or b)make her unrelated. I don't know the answer but I guess will find out this weekend, maybe.

    I was in the camp before TFA that if she was going to be related, they should just come out with it, like during the "Chewie, we're home" scene. As it is now, I can see see them coming to the place were she is a Solo, but do not expect it.

    The french leak is probably fake. There is no mention of it in the Leaks subreddit, and believe me, they’d be all over it if a journalist leaked something like this.

    It’s just like that Vanity Fair thing that was debunked.

    Rey's parents appear to be nobody, but...Kylo tells her something like, "You have no place in this story, you're nobody. But you're important to me."Kylo sees a vision of Rey's parents through the Force, a 2 junk dealers . I guess a case could be made that the vision is false (Snoke is the reason he sees it), but the movie never presents it as something that could be wrong.So we still don't know for sure. This could easily be a lie.

    In one of their Force scenes together, they touch hands, and each is convinced they see each other's future. Rey sees Kylo turned back to the light. Kylo sees Rey turning to the dark once she learns the truth of her parents. (It's all Snoke's manipulation to get Rey aboard the Supremacy so he can find out Luke's location)
    They're together for the last half of the second act, onboard the Supremacy. But after the death of Snoke, Kylo decides to take control of the First Order. They both reach for Anakin's lightsaber, but it's frozen between them - eventually it snaps in half.
    An explosion knocks them out. When Kylo wakes up Rey is gone.

    There is no truth revealed. It's going to come in IX. In this film -

    Ren tells Rey before they go to Snoke - "You'll want to to join me. I've seen who your parents are." and then when she doesn't, she refuses to join him, in anger he tells her they were nothing, nobody, and junkers who sold her because they were drunks. So she should take her place at his side and rule the galaxy. Sound familiar?

    It should be noted -

    It is not said by Luke. Or Yoda, who appears in this film. Or Rey herself. Not one Light side character confirms it. Kylo says it in a moment of manipulation.

    With all that happens with Leia in the film, and what she was "planned" to have done in IX, I think it's still very much on the table.

    But I am happy that ReyLo in the romantic sense is likely out. He is now the Renporer! Whoot!
