Rey Solo

I can imagine:

"I don't know you and you don't know me, but I'm going to wrap my arms around you anyway."

Also, if they make Rey (random) it raises numerous questions:

1. If her parents are dead, she'll never get the answers to who they were and why they left her to fend for herself.
2. If they're alive, the producers will need to find two people to appear later on just to tell her "We are your parents and this is why we left you."
3. Why would the Skywalker lightsabre call to a total stranger?
4. When summoned, why would it go to said stranger rather than a relative of the sabre's original owners?
5. See above dialogue.

 

Snoke/Kylo Ren/Luke may know what happened to them.

If. I doubt they are alive if they are indeed, random.

If this was cut and dry evidence, then Maz would've known he Rey was. She didn't.
But why would the saber call to her:
1. It desired a new owner that was powerful
2. Rey's destiny is to train as a Jedi - to do that she needs to find Luke - the saber wants to get back to Luke
3. Rey is powerful and her destiny is to play a big part in bringing whatever it is the Force wills - to do that she needs to find Luke and so the Force uses Luke's saber to show that she needs to go to him.
4. Rey or her family may have once been in contact with the saber (we do not yet know its full journey).
5. The kyber crystal bonded with her.
6. The saber has a strong connection to the Force and the vergence caused the vision.

See above. + Rey was more powerful in the moment.

Oh that dialogue you wrote. Yeah, I'll pass on commenting on that.

 

But Leia wouldn’t know Rey saw Han get killed. We have no idea what Han told Leia about her unless he gave a fully detailed breakdown akin to a Missing Persons poster.

“She’s about five foot five, brown hair, brown eyes, approximately 19 years old...”

“Are you sure you’re not just describing me at that age?”

I think Daisy has green eyes.

They seem to be a light, hazel-sort-of-brown in the centre around her pupil which fades quite quickly into a green, as you rightly pointed out.

I mean, I don’t know how much they did their homework on eye colour alleles and recessive/dominant genes when it came to casting Rey, but if we really want to read into it, my sister has dark brown eyes, whilst myself and my younger brother have the same brown-to-green fade going on. Our father has blue eyes, whilst my mother has dark brown eyes.

So, genetically, at least, it could be argued that Rey’s mother and father might have a combination of blue and brown eyes or vice versa.

Mark has blue eyes, Carrie has dark brown eyes, and Harrison has hazel eyes; if this is anything to go by - which it isn’t really, but then again, look at how Hayden Christensen’s and Natalie Portman’s eye colours and facial features matched up with Mark’s and Carrie’s, and how Adam Driver’s eyes and facial features match up quite well with Harrison’s and Carrie’s - it would seem to suggest that Rey is more likely to be a Skywalker than a Solo.

 

Eye colour is determined by a number of alleles, where some affect the others and other don't. They are very messy (like most of the genetics of physical features) and they definitely won't be the basis of Rey's alleged affinity to Skywalkers.

 

For sure, I’m aware, and as I qualified in my post, in this case — “it isn’t really [anything to go by].”

Just saying that genetically speaking it could be suggested that she’s more likely to be the daughter of Luke than Leia and Han, but like I said, I doubt that this is anything to go by.

 

To play devil's advocate, Harrison's eyes aren't unambiguously coloured, either.

 

Yeah, I just finished reading around and they seem to have the same/similar hazel-to-green fade which can just as easily look blue (hence why some seem to think Daisy and Harrison have blue eyes).

Just got to wait and see I guess, but it’ll be interesting to see the genetic arguments that could be made for her being related to her parents when they are revealed.

 

When George was looking for actors to play Luke and Leia's parents, the question was "Who looks like they could be these characters' parents?" What's the coincidence they did the same now with Han and Leia: "Which actors look like they could be these characters' children?"

They chose Daisy and Adam for a reason.

Also regarding an image from the first BTS special, why would Rey be kneeling or crouched down in front of Leia? Has Leia just told her something really important and character changing? I doubt Rey came in, went down on one knee to say "Your majesty, report from the main gate. The First Order has infiltrated the base."

 

The impression i got from that shot was that Rey had told Leia something and that is why Leia looks sad, perhaps something happened to Luke or Kylo Ren. It appears to be on Crait, which is believed to be after Rey is on the Supremacy with Snoke, so perhaps during the events that led up to Rey being with Snoke, Luke or Kylo were injured or killed.

She happend to be with brown hair and eyes.

So Lucas searched for proper actress for role of her mother (Portman)

So J.J. casted girls to find . whatayaknow , a young actress girl with again same eyes and color (Ridley).

What a coincidences.

There was J.J's chance for yours "Blond heroine" , to make something new....but , nope. exact brown eyes and hair for new heroine for the 3rd time , for the 3rd trilogy...
