I think this is right. Threepio's line could also be read as "Now we are going to Scarif?". The Tantive IV could have docked with General Raddus' ship after the Star Destroyers went down and the space battle was effectively over, it did not necessarily have to be docked when Raddus left Yavin.

In ROTS we have seen only small part of a planet during night. More about Mustafar in Rogue One here.

Since Saw Gererra is going to be in Rebels, and it's set four or five years before Rogue One/A New Hope, is there a chance Jyn could be with him?
She said that he abandoned her when she was 16, so I suppose it depends on how old she is in Rogue One.

Green screen in PT was replaced mostly by miniatures not CGI. PT used miniatures alot, not CGI. People just think that miniatures in prequels are CGI.
Here you can see some of the practical effects in PT ( miniatures and sets ).

Is that from the concept art book? I think so, it has "Church.......from Ryan Church". I still have to buy that book but am very anxious to read it. Very informative. Thanks!

You do realize that the actors could not be shrunken down to perform their scenes within those "miniature" practical sets, right?

The whole point is, the actors had difficulty performing in a clinical green screen room without having any real environment to immerse themselves in... and a large percentage of the PT was filmed in this manner.

The CGI Leia and Tarkin were far from perfect, but they certainly pushed the envelope of innovation with them, and they were perfectly fine for how they were done. I took my mom, just a casual not hardcore fan, to see the movie last night and she didn't say anything about it until I raised the issue after. She was perfectly fine with them...

So Vader returned to live where it all started, how poetic... His backstory just got even sadder.

I have zero problems with CGI or green screens in general.

In my opinion CGI Tarkin and Leia looked amazing. CGI was a much better option than just recast these characters and pretend that we do not notice different faces.
I hope that this will become standard ( I dislike when they recast characters ),

Yup, I also immidiately recognised Coruscant. The references to the PT were great. I also really liked the clone tank.

People at my movie theater were talking about wanting to see a R rated Star Wars movie after they got out of this one.

To be frank, a lot of people are mostly yahooing at repeated lines and characters from ANH in their reactions to the film more than explaining what was actually good about it! I think the fan service is what generated the biggest reactions from people. For me the use of ANH characters and dialogue was shoddy so I didn't get all giddy at the sight of blue milk, the cantina killer and bum face or the CGI calamities that were Tarkin and Leia.

The rest of it was good. It was a good sci fi war heist film. But Star Wars deserves to be far beyond good. I felt very little when the heroes perished. Compare that with the climaxes of Lucas' films and well...it just doesn't compare.

The strongest element of the film was the relationship between Jyn and Galen. I'd personally have kept that going until the end and not killed him off until the end. Father and daughter dying together would've been more powerful.

I think another issue for me was that there were too many characters. It's like the marvel avengers stuff. Just too much. And it kills the character development, story and emotion.

I watched ROTS last night for the first time in a long time. The problems are obvious but it was still a rousing, exciting and emotional experience. It was Star Wars made by the master. These last two flicks are expensive fan films to me. Well made, interesting in places but are largely dwarfs riding on the back of giants (no offence to dwarfs or giants).

Or, radical idea, don't include characters played by dead or old actors in the script unless absolutely necessary.

Did we need to see Polar Express Leia?

Some critics will look for attention and will say it's black if everyone else is saying white.

    Same here lol.

I went today to watch it again and basically just let go of my previous knowledge of Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher not being actually there. The CGI was amazing.

    BRAVO! Well said.

Season 3 of Rebels is about 2 years before ANH.

I guess his pain was continually being fed to be at the place where his old master mutilated him and where he supposedly killed Padme.

Rebels season 3 is 2 years before Rogue 1/Episode 4, Jyn is 21 year old in Rogue 1 so I don't think she will be in Rebels.

3PO is saying this when Mon Mothma has ordered the whole fleet to join the battle. But that is after the mon calamari admiral has already departured, because he was eager to fight.

In order to get the whole ending sequence to work with EP IV we first need to imagine Tantive IV coming late into battle, then dock to the disabled mon calamari cruiser when all other rebel ships have retreated to Yavin, then enter hyper space to Tatooine to pick up Obi-Wan and get him to Alderaan for some reason, instead of joining the rest of the fleet at Yavin and deliever the plans. It's not making much sense.

I have the feeling that we are going to see this castle again. If you were Kylo, Master of the Knights of Ren, where would you like to live? The fact that there is a sith cave underneath. Wow!

I had watch the movie two times and planning to see again in a few days.My feelings was a total happiness after watching the movie. It take me back to 1977.It was like traveling in time. The director made MAGIC with this movie. In this moment we know 7 movies of SW with chapters numbers.Rogue One is the ONLY one with no EP. number and is like telling us the story ...."A long time ago in a galaxy far far away...".For me this movie is the beginning for EVERYTHING.We know that ANH was the first one in 1977 BUT R1 is like telling us MORE better what is SW all about. We know about rebels, the empire, jedi, siths and the Skywalkers.Rogue One have add that missing piece of how did Princess Leia have the DS prints and show us how hard does the rebels fight to have them.Is was outstanding and AMAZING to watch the action in this GREAT GREAT SW movie.NOW SW is complete for me and we must wait how EP VIII and EP IX to see what did they will add to the saga. The FORCE is with me and I'm with the FORCE.What a GREAT line....I'm living the FORCE NOW....;).
