Puss N Boots ($555 million worldwide) is technically the biggest “spin-off” of all time.

However, that record should fall, and fall rather quickly...

I'd say that R1 should finish at $900MM if not even potentially double it .

Unless there is any other reason besides not enough marketing, I think Rogue One would break records.

I sure hope so, big thing where expected of TFA & it delivered, R1 would be looking do to the same.

As far as spinoffs are concerned, that's what I was referring to.

Rogue One should easily pass 555 worldwide. There is a chance it could beat that. Umber domestically

got to agree, I wonder if there's going to be enough scope left in the rouge one story, for its own spin off. Rouge two:)

I don't think there will be a spin off directly relating to R1. However, if a character becomes very popular, I could see some sort of spin off based on an aspect of that characters life.

You assumed correctly there, and by the way - welcome to the Cantina! Rogue One is pretty much the build up for Episode IV, overriding all Star Wars stories that once defined this time period - popular belief, and what is known about the movie up to this point, is that it is intended to almost seamlessly bleed into the Original Trilogy.

So, to put it bluntly: Disney has altered the canon. Pray they do not alter it any further.

...I'm just kidding, they've done a mostly good job so far.

Hmmm meh, I would disagree. It is not altered it was just the consequence of what George Lucas considered canon, and that was only stories that he contributed to. For example: he rewrote the whole Clone Wars EU stories for his prequels and ignored most of the Mandalorian history known so far, for TCW.

Hehe I see what you did there. Impressive... most impressive.

True. The thing is that most of the stories formerly known as EU were not sanctioned officially as canon by Lucas. And true, he rewrote the stories in order to do TCW.
