And finally, our most most intriguing antagonist (IMHO), the intense moon-chaser Shin Hati:

    How old is she?

    Where is she from?

She looks more like a Jedi than Baylan, but seems darker to me.

    Give thought!!!

Since this is her favorite episode, I will guess we get a fair bit of Shin here.
Maybe Sabine gives her some info that opens her eyes to some things she isn’t aware of, certain points of view and all that.

Shin's talk with Baylan in this episode is one of the most intriguing parts of the series. I really like it!

Teasing a dark ancient threat in this new galaxy

Sowing the potential for Shin to be interested in the Jedi.

Seeing Baylan's plan Similar to a certain few people's from
    Jedi Survivor

So it would seem our intense yet some-what naïve young Force-user was not trained to be a Jedi but something else, though I would venture a guess that training is very similar, but with no restraint on aggression.
Yes this would seem to be the new big bad with Thrawn being nothing but an after-thought. Very, very fascinating.

Man they are just dribbling out info about these two, just enough to keep us wanting more.

I think episode 6 is the first time we've seen her blink.

I wonder. Why the ceremonial dress then? The padawan braid and brown jedi robes. I love the contrast but I also think it would have been cool if she was dressed more like Baylan. Could Baylan's choice in her style of dress be an aspect of the "idea of the jedi" that he said he missed? Well her dress mirrors that of "something more" as well. The robes but with armor/components. Now we need the complete philosophy of these two notjedi mercenaries. I personally need orange saber color closure.

Initially, I thought she was even more evil than Baylan but now the way she is starting to disagree about things and is getting curious about the jedi, I think she'll turn on Baylan in the finale and stop him from killing Ezra or Sabine.

Don't know if totally good but just think she will go solo in the end

Perhaps Shin is thinking "Dark side witches? Necromancy? Pretending to work for ex Imperial so we can harness some as yet unknown power/thing only heard of in fairy tales in order to create a new paradigm...? I didn't bargain for all this." She might feel she has more in common with Ezra and Sabine. If she was an orphan when Baylan found her then it's probably due to the Empire and the war. So she might be reluctant in the end to go along with Baylan's dream if it risks letting the remnants of the Empire turn the tables. Then she'll dye her hair and change her name to Holdo. ;)

Like I said, I will assume the training and philosophy is very similar to the Jedi way therefore their dress would be similar as well. Baylan is obviously scarred and disenfranchised with the Jedi way but you can also see he doesn't like "witchcraft" as well. She's obviously very interested in the time before the purge but it sounds like she was very, very young when it went down and only knows what Baylan has told her, certain points of view again. I agree with @Martoto she has more in common with Ezra then she knows. The whole Bokken Jedi thing was an interesting name drop.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Shin is unstable yet open minded and unafraid to question. This IMO makes her a prime candidate for molding. God the multitude of possibilities here are mind boggling and many of them are tangible. This series is a star wars nerd's speculation heaven and nightmare at the same time.

I wonder, trying to see this all from the actors' perspective, why do y'all think Ivanna Sakhno ranked ep.6 as her favorite in the series? Apart from standing around during Thrawn's introduction and having a chat with Baylan about Jedi and nob-Jedi, Shin Hati didn't do all that much in this one, really... she certainly had a bigger presence in earlier episodes. So what's that draw for her in this one, do y'all think?

Perhaps because 6 introduced Thrawn and the Nightsisters.

Yeah, great question. I think we all assumed that her comment was a hint to Shin's character arc or development, but thinking back on her interviews since SWC, I really do think she was speaking to her view of the overall series. As far as Shin goes, I would definitely say the first two episodes and ep 7 were far more important. Ep 6 was without a doubt moved the pieces the most and could end up being one of the most loved episodes of the season.
