Would it really matter what his birth name was? He's a self-made guy not the product of some famous lineage...

And actually looking again at the KK quote she does say that there's more to Han Solo's name, but that it is his name. I take that to mean that "Han Solo" isn't his full name, but that it is part of it. My bet is that he will not be referred to as HS until later on in the movie...

Hmmm. I wonder whether the Force will play a substantial role in this film. Maybe they're cautious about excluding it entirely, with the idea in mind that the hint of mysticism it brings with it is essential to the appeal of Star Wars. There's something to this: the same could be said of the Indiana Jones franchise. But still, I'd like to see them push further than they did with R1 and have a movie where it doesn't play an explicit role at all.

 

Personally, I hope this will be the first movie without the Force, sabers and mystical themes. In ANH, Han doesn't acknowledge the Force, so it would be strange if he already encountered stuff like this in his past.
There are of course many ways they could incorporate the character hinted at in the above link, but the Han Solo movie just being Butch Cassidy in space would make me a happy panda.

Apologies if this is old news, but I came across a guy on Ebay UK selling film concept artwork and he has some interesting looking stuff. First looks like an in atmosphere ship of some kind with stormtroopers visible on the gantry. Next is a concept design for a speeder bike. The guy has other concept art from other films, not sure what to make of this??

 

Was this guy claiming it's concept art from the Han Solo film? If so, I wonder how credible this is. Haven't seen it popping up anywhere else, but it seems like a big leak if it's genuine.

Or just search "RED CUP CONCEPT ART" on Ebay UK. He has other film stuff too, but seems strange that he has got hold of this and is blatantly selling it, would of thought they would have that sort of thing under tighter security than the real Roswell videos

The same guy has just listed some more "Red Cup" concept art. Last two look like the underside of an ATAT.

 

I HIGHLY doubt this would be for Han Solo because it would be similar to that TLJ "workprint leak" if it was...I doubt they're allowed to take work home with them.

Then it wouldn't really be a Star Wars film without the Force. It would be any other space movie w/ a Star Wars character. The Force is really the idea of the Ether/God/The Space Between the Spaces and as such, is something that may be acknowledged in not just our "real" galaxy but in many others with humanoid beings.

 

I hope they don't shoehorn Vader into this movie. Han and Lando are iconic enough you would think.

 

I don't see how Vader fits in.

As for the Force, the only way it fits is with a Chirrut or Baze type character who believe it but can't use it and Han just ridicules them over it

i dunno, i could see Vader being used in a somewhat.. comedic way.

Han in the middle of a smuggling run, and he tells everyone that the presence of the Empire will be at a minimum..a real "Trust me!" moment.
they swing around the corner, and Vader's getting off a ship with umpteen troopers.

he wouldn't need to say or do anything.

in saying that.. it wouldn't be a necessary presence, so perhaps it's best if they don't 'go there' with cameos of that proportion.

he is certainly going to get into some 'imperial entanglements' though i'm sure

 

I just don't see how you can include a character like Vader in a Han movie then have Han so obtuse to the idea of the Force in ANH without serious fudging of facts.
