You're killin' me. They already said they wouldn't be using the Disney logo. Use the trailers, and the Marvel films, as references.

 

Disney is the worst company. Their marketing, IS genius, I have to admit. Although, it's mostly because of JJ Abrams.

I think it would be cool if we see the Bad Robot Logo, but, instead of the red robot, we see BB-8.

 

That's a relief. The smart thing to do, IMO -- still, no 20th Century Fox fanfare.

 

I can see, "Jakku Vice: The Rey and Finn Chronicles."

Some thoughts about ABC's tv spot:

1) I loved, loved Han handing Rey the gun. That definitely was an attempt to put some humor into the trailers.

2) Although Fisher's comments stated that Leia is solitary, look who's standing right next to her? C3PO is on the other side. Her 2 most trusted people (with the exception of Luke, perhaps?) are right next to her? Han is even closer to her than Ematt. And Han is wearing some type of strap on his thigh like Poe does. Did Han wear that in the original trilogy? It looks like he's part of the resistance/rebellion to me. It looks like Leia's headquarters are in that castle. It looks like some unsavory people are milling about there. Are they perhaps working with the resistance, most likely directly with Han? Is Chewie in that picture? I don't see Poe.

3) Also, I noticed that the 1st tv spot indicated that Star Wars was all about relationships, and then a romantic picture of Han and Leia were shown. Interesting...

 

Do you think that Maz Kanata's castle is really a secret Resistance Base? Maybe Leia is literally underground, which would make sense considering that Rey and BB-8 walk/roll down the stairs. From the rumors, There is The New Republic, The FO, and The Resistance...so maybe The Resistance hides from both The FO AND The New Republic (?). I think Han wore a holster, but we just never noticed...and it might just be that the quality is just so great here in terms of the quality of the cameras that we can clearly see it now. There obviously has to be romance in SW to make it more lucrative as a franchise, but just watch Disney screw it up like they screw everyone over already. I doubt the other pirates work for the resistance...they probably just stay above ground, doing their thing and pretending there aren't any resistance things lying about, which is why the of destroys them.

Regarding the castle, it occurred to me, but now it kind of makes more sense to me now. Han probably brought Rey over to see Leia. He knew that the base and Leia were there because he probably is still in the resistance with Leia. Still, why would Leia be solitary? Does that go back to stuff you mentioned before about him being on a mission for a year?

 

I don't know what a mind is...I know how to rip the ears off of a Gundark, though...

I like the idea that Han and Leia are still together, but have been separated (not romantically, but physically) due to a mission. This would give us the drama the film requires, while also staying true to the characters and their love for each other. Gives us an emotioal edge.

 

I never really thought about it this way. That would be extremely cool. It would be the reason Han knows Maz - because she is housing Leia. How they all met is another story.

The only thing against this right now is that there are scenes at the Greenham Commons. That is a more likely location for the Resistance base at this point.

 

When I said "a year," I was extrapolating. It could have been a year, more or less. Leia isn't in solitary. She probably stays to herself and is just fired up about making damn well sure that no threat will ever come back for "her people." Han might have just dropper her off since we don't see Han Solo (I didn't notice him) behind or in front of her.

 

Do you mean in the control room scene here? He's next to her. To the left of her.

 

The Greenham Commons looks really familiar in the location of what we see in general. Max's "Castle" looks similar on the outside like the greenroom sets on its interiors. You are right in the sense that it's a bit wonky in the terms of how there is an outside of the greenham commons of the x-wings and al... HOWEVER, AND CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG, we still have no official word of the interiors of Leia's base being the same place as the x-wings...what if there are multiple bases to maximize victories for The Resistance, and, indirectly, The New Republic...sort of likeThe New Republic doesn't want anything to do with The Resistance for Political Reasons, but they still try to help The New Republic...sort of like drawing (better) parallels to The PT with The Republic and The Separatists.

Good catch. That looks very similar to Han Solo...I guess, to edit my previous line of thinking, maybe Han Solo walks with Rey and BB-8, and The second he sees Leia, he brushes past Rey and goes straight to Leia's side, and then Rey only sees the back of Leia...she slowly approaches Leia, and Leia turns around and says, "I was wondering when you'd be ready..." very bluntly and then starts talking about the plan of attack and Rey is like, ":O"

 

Electro nightstick training suggests that perhaps Finn might have had some melee training so its not quiet as much of a stretch to see him lifting the Sabre.
