No way to know. Years have passed since the battle on Lothal before that epilogue. Just because it shows her at Ezra's tower on Lothal doesn't mean she lived there or stayed there. I would put that under "Bad". Ezra disappeared and she basically gave up and forgot about him for a few years? What a lousy thing to do to those characters and their relationship.

And ultimately a colossal letdown as it went nowhere and didn't mean anything. The way Filoni treated Sabine and Ezra's relationship, building it up at times and then letting it go all of the other times, was a huge let down and ultimately the main reason why I hated the finale.

    1) Right, but why? He addressed the senate disfigured and told everyone the jedi's attack left him disfigured. Who is he trying to fool/what is his goal?

    2) That's super interesting, thanks for sharing.

I mean, it isn't definitive, but she gives a speech about thinking Ezra wanted her to protect Lothal, from a battle that never came. She just happened to go back for a visit when Ashoka arrives? I don't think she never left Lothal, but it seemed that she made it her mission to protect it from the empire.

Well at the time he needed to garner sympathy to convince the senate that the Jedi betrayed him. After that he was already Emperor and could say or do anything he wanted. He probably wanted the average Joe to see him as a warm and kind old man and not a disgusting malformed Sith lord.

I just finished and cried my eyes out. In the end, everything was connected - space whales which can travel through hyperspace, Bendu's prophecy of Thrawn's defeat in embrace of cold hands, no Jedi on the board (Filoni told us over and over that they don't have to die, that Yoda's words about no Jedi are subjective)... The wolves fighting was spectacular! What a music! And SPECTRE 7! A part of Kanan lives on! And Thrawn LIVES! Old Ahsoka!

I have so many feelings, I have to re-watch the episodes to have a better impression, but I am deeply satisfied. :)

I truly enjoyed these episodes! They didn't have quite the same weight as the episodes over the last couple weeks. The finale was more about closing out this story than expanding SW mythology or paying service to other SW stories (e.g. Mortis), as it should have been.

I know a lot of people wanted more of a direct tie in to Scarif, but I don't think that was necessary. We know Hera and Chopper were there. To show something that we all know happened wasn't necessary to me. But I get why others wanted to see it.

And a series/movie about Ahsoka and Sabine on a quest into the unknown regions to find Ezra?! YES PLEASE!!!

Yes! I cried my eyes out too. I started when Sabine touched the painting of the ghost crew and I was still blubbing after the credits had rolled.

Once again, I wish I payed as much as you did.

Alright, but a few years only. Was it shown like right after EpVI or am I wrong? Remember when Lux introduced her to Death Watch as his girlfriend, the same episode Ahsoka decapitated five or six warriors, "A Friend in Need" I guess? So, she looks exactly like that :D

Same here. Ezra being instrumental in "having to" stay to see Thrawn's removal...because it had to be done left me with an empty feeling, but I expect that we're going to see that kid again, and I'm all for it.

Oh, oh, oh......"Kanan Jr."?? THAT will evenetually come into play...just watch.

My favorite.....Ahsoka...and Sabine...off to find Ezra.

This isn't the end of these characters...they'll be back...a little older, but I expect that THIS particular story of the crew will be back in one form or another.

I would agree if we didn't get the epilogue.

It almost feels as if Rebels only ended because they didn't want to cut into the OT, not necessarily because the story was over. The epilogue grazes over the entirety of the Galactic Civil War and then picks back up post-ROTJ, a time where there really isn't much going on in the galaxy, much like how Rebels began. But it makes it clear that there's still more left to do and more story left to tell. Ashoka and Sabine are off to find Ezra, now whether they develop that into an entire series or just make an animated movie out of it... who knows.

It wasn't your standard, "be all end all" ending, there wasn't the finality that a lot of people were expecting, but what it did do was close off this chapter of their lives, the Rebels chapter. It was almost like a graduation. Now we see what's next for them.

I know most people didn't like Space Whales the first time out, but I always thought that was a pivotal episode as it showed Ezra's growing connection with the natural world (which we first see with Loth cats) which developed with the giant spiders and came to fruition with the wolves. I shouted "Space Whales. Yes!" with arms aloft when they came out of hyperspace. Loved that moment and thought it took Ezra's skill with nature to its zenith.

Also so happy that Thrawn is alive to come back post RoTJ. Are we going to see Joruus C'Baoth in a future animated show? Or will Ezra team up with the Chiss to fight the Yuzhan Vong? I was never a big fan of what the Vong did to the SW galaxy but if they keep them in the unknown regions I could get on board.

And wait...in the epilogue, did I hear that Hera went on to fight in the battle of Endor???

Anything but the Vong. It just seems to me that the Vong would merely turn it into a generic Saturday morning cartoon...I have a REALLY hard time with those aliens! :)

    SPOILERS!

Any great piece of art, whether it be a painting, song, book, poem, movie, or T.V. show has to do one thing to it's captive audience - make you feel something. Sadness, joy, confusion, whatever the emotion may be anything that can make you feel something has done the job the artist has set out to do. Luckily, the series finale of Star Wars Rebels made me feel all of the emotions. Sadness, that our heroes stories are ending (or is it?) and the characters we lost along the way. Joy that even though this is the end for one story, it's the beginning of another, and they were able to successfully complete their mission. And finally confusion for what the hell I just witnessed and what it all means for the future of the Star Wars universe. The episode aired a couple of hours ago and I'm still not entirely sure what I just saw, but I know one thing for sure, I loved the ride.

From the get-go I knew I was in for a doozy of an episode, seeing and hearing Hera getting the band back together to liberate Lothal, got me more emotional than even I anticipated. Hondo, the always wise-cracking pirate looking at everyone and saying 'For that boy, there is nothing I wouldn't do' was surprisingly touching to me and was the perfect tone setter for the finale. Like I said before, it made me feel something.

From there seeing the Rebels plan come to life and after some setbacks come together left a smile on my face the entire time. Ezra in particular was a real standout to me, which is to be expected, it's his story. There was a certain calm and maturity to him that shone through and they were no doubt the influences from his master, who is obviously still with him, albeit not physically anymore. His monologue where he talked to his parents in the Ghost turret was a great emotional moment and really put into perspective why he was still fighting and why he started in the first place.

Sabine also showed out for this final episode. The bond that she and Ezra share has been really fun to see grow and culminate in this episode. They aren't just following whatever Kanan and Hera tell them to do, they are leading the missions and forming plans. In the end, it's that trust in each other that saves Lothal.

The episode had a lot of great action but it didn't move at a neck break pace like I was expecting, which after seeing the episode is 100% right. The little breaks in action were necessary and I think these moments lead to some essential set up that called back from some notorious moments from Rebels history.

A couple weeks ago I complained about the point of the Loth Wolves and how confusing they were. Well I completely take it back because man seeing giant wolves take out incompetent Stormtroopers and seeing Rukh and Pryce legitimately scared for their lives was payback for torturing Hera a while ago. A truly satisfying moment that paid off weeks of build-up.

Speaking of the villains, the trio of Pryce, Rukh, and Thrawn had their ups and downs but two of the three were incredibly menacing and did a great job of backing Ezra and crew into a corner. Thrawn in particular lived up to his Legends hype and his brutal bombardment of the city was a scary moment because you knew he would really destroy the city if it meant breaking Ezra and accomplishing his goal. His methodical approach has always made him a scary villain and an effecting one at the.

I can already picture the complaints on Twitter so lets talk about those space whales. Wow. Dave Filoni and crew took what many saw as a punchline and turned it into Lothal's ultimate savior. Say what you will about the 'filler' episodes but man, that is impressive connection to the early seasons that pays off in the end to me. Space Whale Ex Machina!

I don't know why, but like last week where I got some Indiana Jones vibes, this week I saw flashes of Lord of the Rings. I mean the space whales are basically the eagles and a certain character at the end with the white cloak reminded me of Gandalf, staff and all. As a huge fan of Middle-Earth I really appreciate little nods like these and brings two of my favorite franchises together.

Before we talk about the ending and what it means for the future of Star Wars, I have to mention Sheev. Ian McDiarmid didn't really get a chance to fully shine in last weeks episodes, but damn, did he step back into the role without missing a beat. We didn't get the Emperor, we got Sheev and I loved the similarities in tone that he manipulated Anakin with. He almost made Ezra open the door and you could see why Ezra would be tempted. It's his ultimate test, the one thing he wants most in the world, his parents back and had Ezra opened it you could understand why. McDiarmid voiced the role perfectly and I wish he could do more work as Palpatine again.

Ok, the ending, I have a lot of thoughts on it. It was as perfect as it could be with it still making sense. Raise your hand if you thought everyone was going to die. I did. I thought this was going to be a Rogue One situation where it just wouldn't make sense if they survived and didn't have a role in the Rebellion in the films. Leave it to Filoni to get around it. Ezra is without a doubt still alive. 'I can't wait to come home.', come on! There is no way he isn't alive! On the other side of the coin Thrawn is probably still alive as well, which leads to a lot of really exciting possibilities for the future.

Lothal was saved, Ezra and Thrawn are gone, Hera has a kid, the Empire never came back to Lothal, Lothal has prospered, and most importantly, Ahsoka lives! After missing the entire episode she shows up right at the very end and of all the things that this episode opens up, her inclusion gets me the most excited. We could have an Ahsoka and Luke Skywalker meeting! I don't care what kind of Star Wars fan you are that is an incredibly cool prospect and one that absolutely needs to be explored.

The series finale was everything I wanted it to be and everything I didn't know I wanted it to be. It ended one of favorite series in a satisfying way, while also setting up brand new stories with these same characters. The Force was truly with us.

Before I leave you guys, I wanna end with a little speculation and a thank you. First of all this new series that will undoubtedly come next will be the search for Ezra, and will take them into the Unknown Regions and I have a feeling there will be a lot of Legends inspirations put into it. That's not an insider information, it just makes sense to me. Finally it has been a true honor to write these reviews for you guys about a show I'm so passionate about. Thank you so much for reading and may the Force be with all of you. Always.

Also, be sure to check out the last episode of Rebels Recon before you go!

And a warm farewell to Dave Filoni and everyone involved with Rebels. We can't wait to hear more details about their next project.

All righty, if it's after Episode VI, which I also suspect, not that old in years. She should be in her early to mid forties. It was the way she was animated. Who knows what she went through in the meantime.

EDIT: Also she must keep her promise - to find Ezra.

Long time lurker...first time posting. I thought the finale was quite satisfying. Nothing is perfect, but I think Filoni has breathed more life into Star Wars than anyone else, and I've been a fan since the beginning. If someone asks me what my favorite Star Wars is, I won't hesitate to drop either TCW or Rebels. I like how the ending with Ezra allows for the Skywalker arch to be unhindered. Perhaps now that the live action films are being dragged through the mud, we can get some Rebels based characters onto the big screen to save it. I really hate to see the series end, but I think they did a bang up job in 4 seasons. I'm all for Filoni being the keeper of the keys for the Star Wars universe.
