I kinda hated Ashoka in clone wars season 1/the movie. I thought the movie was so bad, it turned off many viewers from giving the show a try. After season 1, I told Dave at a party that I really couldn't care less if Ashoka lived or died at the end, but after Season 5 I told Eckstein that Ashoka was one of my favorite characters. Part of the specialness of the character...is that my enjoyment of her grew with her.

I watched the collider review. I think the point he, and other were after, is that the show played it off like that was Hera and Kanan's first kiss and confession of love, with them not having time for anything else. Them having a kid, with no time between the kiss and Kana's death...proves that Kanan was quivering her Lekku for some time.

Not as much as the worlds just tossing the troopers all off the cliff. I get that you can't show the toopers getting torn asunder, but maybe just cut away...like the Rukh death.

From a "moral" stance, I don't think kids would notice or care. Its like in Batman Mask of the phantasm, when the girl is wearing Bruce Wayne's shirt the next morning....kid Alex didn't know what was up.

From a viewers perspective, I did think it was a bit weird that A new dawn seemed to imply they had a certain status, and then the show made it seem like maybe nothing had happened yet....but ultimately...yeah, who cares. Great show, and I love what happened.

Anyone else think its a bit weird that a Twi'lek/human hybrids just look human? Why not Lekku or a different skin color, or fanged teeth or something?

Other than apparently rubbing elbows with Dave and Ashley, this is incredibly relateable. I thought Ahsoka was so grating in early episodes, but she grew into what is probably my favorite Star Wars character, if not close to favorite.

Well back in The Clone Wars there was this clone who deserted and married a Twi'lek who had two kids from a previous relationship with a human and both kids looked more Twi'lek than human. However, perhaps the Mendel Laws of Inheritance work just the same and perhaps in the case of Jacen the human hair gene was dominant and the Twi'lek lekku was recessive.

I think like with any mixes, it can go both ways.

Also, for people questioning the timeline, who says that Twi'lek's carry kids for 9 months? ;)

    1) I mean, for sure. I just think it'd be more visually interesting if they were more blended. Maybe even just in subtle ways, like inheriting ear cones, weird eyes or sharp teeth.

    2) I was wondering about that too. I feel like for star wars, they take the "assume its like humans unless we say otherwise". I mean, why else is their year almost identical to ours, with most species having similar life spans and planets with earth like gravity and atmospheres? For all we really know, Hera doesn't get pregnant, but lays an egg. Its safe on Yavin and Kanan had to fertilize it like a fish. You're welcome for the imagery ;)

I got to watch it in it's entirety without falling asleep. For the most part I liked it.
I liked how they brought most of the Rebels characters together for one last fight. I like the little Ugnaught dude, he was cool.

Order 13 reminded me of operation Valkyrie in WW2 which was a contingency plan in case the Furhur was killed. I thought that was pretty cool.

Things I don't like, the very end. All of it. Lol. Ahsoka is STILL alive after ROTJ, even though Luke is the Last Jedi... but not really? I dunno. Is Hera's kid Kannan's? They assume we know, but I mean they didn't even kiss until right before he died, so I can't assume it is. They assume after 4 or 5 years Ezra is still alive, so meybe he's the last Jedi? I dunno. It was good until then but I suppose it needed a happier ending than Rogue One. A lot of people were pissed everyone died.

Seeing the wolves maul those stormtroopers was satisfying, it was reminiscent of the throne room scene in TLJ. :)

Ezra Bridger was on the bridge of a star destroyer with Thrawn with smashed windows when it was towed into hyperspace by those big tentacled beasties.

So, like Princess Leia in TLJ, can all Force users breathe in open space??!

Leia didn't breath in space in TLJ. She was holding her breath until she was able to pull herself back.

I really enjoyed the end. I'm glad they found a way to stick with Canon and keep Ezra alive. I believe he and thrown will be the first to discover Snoke in the unknown regions. Curious as to how that goes. Excited to see Sabine and Ashoka look for Ezra, it has the potential to be a great exciting series if that's what they are doing. Also a great way to bring back characters and things into Canon as Ashoka and Sabine start the search for Ezra.

Imagine Ezra and Thrawn getting stuck on a hostile planet together? The potential is rich.

This is just a guess, but I imagine Jacen is a prime candidate for a protagonist in the next animated series.

And as we know, Star Wars has thus far been reluctant to feature an alien primary protagonist (and in the movies, really an alien protagonist in general outside of Chewie). I guess that sounds kinda messed up, and maybe it is, but at least it's only indicative of pretend racism.

He's pretty passably human, and I think that's pretty much the point.

Watched the episode last night. Absolutely loved the ending.

The one thing that strikes me about the ending though was set up last week. I think getting Ezra back is going to require a trip to somewhere we came to for the last time rather recently. There are three people who know much about the World Between Worlds:
    • Ezra, who spent significant time in the WBW but is out of play as was last seen on the Chimera's bridge with the windows broken around him. A rather precarious position to be in, if you ask me.
    • Ahsoka, the only other character we know who has actually been in the WBW and who shows up at the end of the episode. Ezra also asks her to find her when she comes back, to which she says that she will, a phrase that has deeper meaning now that Ezra is "lost."
    • And Sabine, who's appreciation of art helped Ezra get into the WBW and also asked Ezra to help him.
What if, post-Endor, Ahsoka and Sabine aren't going out to the Unknown Regions to find Ezra? What if, instead, they're going to find another Jedi Temple to discover another entrance to the WBW? Admittedly, this might be a way out there theory, but I can't see a lot of ways that you can survive without significant injury for a significant period of time in a vacuum. And if both Ezra and Thrawn are supposed to survive this (per Filoni)? They've already given us an out there.

But, time will tell, I suppose.

Saw and his Partisans were never presented as much more than a nuisance though. The group on Lothal, who were provably connected to the Rebellion, fought the Empire, WON, and then liberated an ENTIRE PLANET! When else had that ever happened before that point? What act attributed to Saw can even come close to that? Why would the Empire not think the Rebellion was present there conspiring further? They blew up Alderaan just to make a point. That makes no sense to me.
So? The Empire has never exactly been portrayed as a reasonable ‘live and let live’ presence. They are a totalitarian, fascist state. They wouldn’t simply allow one of their occupied territories to be overthrown and leave it there. Lothal spit right in the face of the devil and somehow got away with it? I’m sorry, but that’s insane to me.
Heck, Luke wasn’t even a real Jedi throughout the OT according to Yoda. Even though he spent a good chunk of ROTJ saying he was to anyone that would listen :)
