    Pablo Hidalgo on twitter said The Force Awakens was to have been originally called Shadow of the Empire. Hmm I think I slightly prefer TFA over SotE

    Wait. You mean it wasn't The Ancient Fear (being sarcastic)

    The Force Awakens is definitely better than Shadow of the Empire. That could have caused a lot of confusion

    I'm glad they changed it to The Force Awakens..:) I want them to come up with their own title and not just pick an title from an novel, unless it is an straight up film adaption of the novel ofcouse, which it wasen't in this case ;)..

    I might have been one of the few people who liked "The Ancient Fear"

    Especially if it played up on the idea of "The Force" being a myth with the galaxy shunning Force users out of sheer fear after the whole Vader and Luke thing, and being the reason Luke ultimately vanished. Till Luke is needed to come back and save the very same galaxy that turned their back on him.

    There were people bashing "The Force Awakens" when it was revealed, without knowing ANYTHING about the movie, and whether or not the name was fitting for the theme. Theres people ready to bash and hate anything, the same will happen when the Episode 8 title is revealed, before it starts to grow on people. Some Star Wars fans really have an idea what they think/want "their" Star Wars to be.

    There will be fans who will hate on anything post-OT era movie, this is not to bash any group of SW fans, but there are some hardcore OT-purists who hate anything ot ANH-ROTJ and even hate the EU, PT plus TFA along with that.

    This is actually kinda surprising. It's not like Shadows of the Empire was a single novel or anything, it was the whole big 'multi-media' project thing.

    I honestly do hope we get an anthology movie based on Shadows of the Empire, I want to see the Outrider and Dash Rendar on the big screen!
