    I watched an interview where JJ was presented with HUNDREDS of designs. When the mask that we see Kylo in came about...they immediately knew that was the one.

    I need to pick up that book. I flipped through one a bit at a B&N. It is really neat.

    Was flipping through my new "The Art of The Force Awakens" book, which is amazing, and noticed a familiar concept drawing they had listed as an early idea for the cantina in the film. Did a quick Google search and sure enough, it's the same drawing Disney has been using as a cantina rendering for "Star Wars Land". The same page in the book has a drawing of a city exterior that looks exactly like the design of the Star Wars Land exterior. Appears Star Wars Land will have A LOT of unused elements & ideas from Force Awakens.

    eek. It was on YouTube. Right before release, I watched several hours of interviews with him that I couldn't even tell you which one it was. I recommend watching them all on YouTube...they were quite entertaining.

    What page or pages is this info from? I don't recall it being that specific in description, especially destroying Jedi relics and taking their sabers. I've only read all the way through once. Are you just inferring based on the art?
    Also, a lot of the concepts, like the double bladed saber, weren't part of any story outline, just artists messing around with ideas to see what might spark a story idea. This was before they had many concrete ideas.
