THE ART OF TFA BOOK

I'm surprised no one mentioned this. I would be very interested to see Hayden reprise his role with a new director.

 

This has causally been mentioned a while back and it ended up getting rejected and everyone is optimistic that this could be recycled for VIII .

 

I think we could see Anakin as a Force Ghost in Episode VIII, but I don't think they'll do the lightside/darkside ghost idea - otherwise, they wouldn't have left it in the artbook.

Regardless of what they ultimately do, I'm personally I'm not too fond of the notion. The visual is cool, and I can definitely see why people like it, but the whole point of the original trilogy as to establish that Anakin went completely back to the light at the end of his life ( which, canonically, is what enabled him to become a force ghost in the first place ).

So, personally, I think it's one of those cool ideas which should, however, be left on the cutting room floor.

You mean the bad directing, surely? I mean do you base McGregor's, Neeson's, and Portman's acting chops off of the PT? If you were forced to, you would have to conclude that they were horrible actors. We all know they are actually some of the best in the business.

 

I used to feel like shedding a tear for poor Hayden's reception - more due to some questionable direction/script/post-production choices than his own I guess. (Those Anti-Cheese Edits proved this to me and credit his performance.)

i'd be willing to give him another chance. it's not entirely his fault he sucked so bad in the PT. he was a young actor badly directed with horrific dialogue. ewan mcgregor was brilliant before (and in spite of) his PT experience. hc never really had a chance.

a small cameo couldn't hurt the ST. and i for one would be curious to see Vader tell Ren to get his shyte together. it's probably not necessary (AT ALL), but done well it could be interesting.

 

The easiest character I could see him doing is a receding from the Jedi archives .

 

I have all 7 art of Star Wars books. The art of ANH blew my mind at a tender age. The soft cover was $19 which I could not afford at the time because my allowance was a mere $20. I stood in Forbidden Planet NYC for hours poring over it. It's why I'm an artist today. All those artist in one room creating Star WArs mind blown! I love Chiang's cover for the art of TFA. His artwork has evolved drastically from the art of the TPM. Anywho, thanks for the memories.

 

Do you have the box set too? The box set is a nerd's (mine) wet dream .
