So far, most people's speculations about plot twists in the ST revolve around connections to the OT and PT: for example, familial connections, the fate of Luke, and so on. It seems to me that the most intelligent plot twists are going to be the ones we can't anticipate because they concern story elements that haven't been introduced yet - elements that will be introduced in the new films.

For example, there may very well be brand new story elements that are introduced early in TFA that make for some plot twist later in the film. These would then be plot twists no one can anticipate before seeing the film, because they concern brand new things, persons, or situations we haven't seen before.

Every time I watch TESB I try to re-capture the feeling of being an audience member who has no clue who this funny little green dude is, and wouldn't guess that he's actually Yoda until that great moment when we suddenly hear Obi Wan's voice in Yoda's hut just as Yoda's expression becomes suddenly noble and solemn. Or, every time I watch ANH, I try to re-capture the feeling I remember having when I was a little kid who didn't guess that Han Solo would swoop in at the last moment and the destruction of the Death Star.

Sure, the most well-known plot twist in the OT was the moment when we discover that Vader is Luke's father, but these other moments - which you couldn't have anticipated before watching the movie - are just as important. And if TFA is going to be more than just a re-hash of the OT (and I really hope it is), there will be lots of moments like these ones. There will be some real, new worldbuilding that introduces elements we haven't seen before, and allows for exciting plot turnabouts we can't anticipate...
