Whether the show ends at Season 3 or if it continues on for a few more years, Rebels is eventually going to end. My question is: how?
We all know the only trained Jedi who survive by IV are Yoda and Kenobi. So what happens to Ezra and Kanan? Do they die in combat? Do they decide to take a month-long vacation on Alderaan? Do they simply fade from the picture as the alliance strengthens?

    Thoughts?

The fourth season is almost done and I assume that we will get another one to line up with Rogue One.

I have a suspicion that Kanan would have to die - since he has been knighted by Yoda we see his rapid progression and he is becoming more and more like Jedi of old. So, he might be a goner and probably in the fight. In a blaze of glory, while protecting Ezra or Ghost crew as a whole. Ezra might then decide to leave the Jedi path. Unless Bendu shows them another way, I think they will have to be out of the picture and death or abandonment of Jedi way is the only answer I can see. Which sucks, because Kana is becoming one of my favorite Jedi. Sabine will probably lead Mandalore, which leaves us with Hera, Zeb and Chopper. Hera and Chopper were on Yavin during RO, maybe Zeb was too - but we don't know if they survive the brutal battle. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Zeb has the Lira San storyline to fall back on if necessary. All the other Lasat's are there, hiding in 'Wild Space'. So . . . . there's that.

EDIT: I think the majority of the crew will likely be spared and relocated in individual ways before Ep4. Then they’ll return, one by one, for Filoni’s next animated series. Just like Rex, who we already know makes it past Ep6.

Filoni never confirmed that Rex survives. He specifically says he likes the theory, but never outright states such a thing.

True. That hasn't been officially confirmed. Filoni wants it though. So that makes it 'canon adjacent' for me :)

I remember Filoni saying he views Rex as that old dude in ROTJ. I don't think it is just a theory he likes, but it isn't canon yet. I view it sort of like tweets or unproduced clone wars scripts. They are provisionally treated as canon, internally, but not actually canon until it shows up in some sort of official media.

I've heard that they want the show to go for 7 or so seasons and maybe lead into the battle of endor. The show could get very different after season 4. They can put Zeb back on Lira San, Sabine on Mandalore, Kill kanan, have Ezra wonder off and give us 3 seasons of Hera and the main rebel alliance between episodes 4-6.

It will end on Scarif, they're in Rogue One and not in ANH. I guess they are casulaties in the Scarif battle.

That would be a pretty big bummer ending for a Disney kids show . . . . . . do it Disney!! Kill'em all and let the Force sort'em out - if that's a thing it does.

There will no doubt be 5 seasons, and a series to replace it shortly thereafter. I think Kanan is going to die...likely defending Ezra, and I'd like to think that will be at Vader's hands. I'd also like to think that Ezra "pulls an Ahsoka" after Kanan dies, and just walks away, (insert fantasy) and then later in Ep. VIII or IX emerges and reveals himself to Luke.....seriously. :)

It is, but Luke and Ezra are exactly the same age....both born on Empire Day.

That's a very long gap whatever his age is. 35 years. Why coming back ?

    Spoilers for Rogue One:
I remember a lot of people used the same logic for Rogue One, and while they were technically correct, I still disagree with them. It's sort of like the the epistemological thought experiment the "cow in the field". Summed up below:

This is in regards to "justified true belief". The farmer was correct in his conclusion that the cow was in the field, but he came to that conclusion on bad information. So, technically, while he was correct in his assumption, he did not "know" that the cow was in the field. He just had a lucky guess.

Same goes for this. Though the R1 crew died, and though it's possible that the Ghost's crew dies, it's not a foregone conclusion. In Star Wars, we only really see an extended scene with what we could reasonably refer to as the entire Rebel Fleet for one time- the Battle of Endor. Now, unless someone can name every single ship, every single starfighter and every single man, woman, and alien present at that battle, they really cannot know that the Ghost wasn't there (they could't have known R1 wasn't there either, until the film confirmed it).

And to be honest, even then one cannot be sure. Perhaps the Ghost was on a secret mission to Ord Mantell during Endor? Perhaps they were mopping up the mess on Tatooine? Maybe they were anywhere else in the entire GFFA. Mothma's not gonna put the operation on hold just because Hera had a flat tire.

The point is, their absence in the films is a weak argument. Sure, you think you see a cow- but take care that it's not really a sheet.

Well, the rebellion should have been aware then that Kenobi wasn't their last hope if Kanaan was still around ? And Ezra too ?

To reveal himself as a Jedi maybe to assist the most famous Jedi in bringing balance, I suppose. Just something I'd like to see.

Maybe they're dead. Maybe they're in hiding. Maybe they've joined the dark side, as some have suggested.

    We.
    Don't.
    Know.

In Rogue One, we saw ... about 20 seconds of Rebels on a 130 min movie, I really don't expect the ST to talk much about Rebels. They did cameos for fans but I would be very surprised if we see them in the ST.

Rebels is not seen by many people comparing to the movies.

Yeah, if there were any Jedi in the Rebellion when Luke joined up, he'd definitely be all up in their business. They'll have to go by some means by then.

Didn't Snoke said that Luke was the last jedi ? Wouldn't Yoda tell Luke about him ( because Yoda knows Ezra ).

That depends on your "point of view"...all of it. I've always believed that more Jedi than Yoda and Obi-Wan survived order 66 and hid away, and if those two didn't know about anyone else that survived, then THAT would be their perspective...without knowing for sure, but instead maybe just assuming.
