The FORCE awaken BUT.....Which side of the FORCE awake???

What a GREAT thread topic! I have been trying to think of one all day and gave up. Good job Light Savior!

I think the FORCE itself has awakened. It has manifested itself into material objects. Such as Lukes Light Saber. Which Luke is good so your theory that the light side of the force has awakened holds water as well.

Great thread. Think on this I must and keep checking back.

I think of good and evil as relative terms depending on your point of view. I always believed the force is everything and takes no sides. Lucas has demonstrated in interviews that the FORCE itself is good but his words are no longer canon. It will be interesting how this thread will turn out. Much debate and another thread of the week for you I sense.

 

The title makes no sense to me. Considering that the Force is responsible for the creation and existence of all living things, the idea of it "awakening" makes no sense.

 

I can create life then run off to Las Vegas leaving my creation behind. Creators can go docile then come back.

 

I think that it was more of The Force Awakening in general otherwise the movie would have been named, "Star Wars Episode VII: The Light Side of the Force Awakens" .

 

the Force is neutral. it's how you wield it that determines whether it's Dark or Light.

Rey is the awakening. like Kylo Ren, she has the capacity to go either way. she's obviously set up to be his binary opposite, so it's logical that she will choose the Light, ultimately.

 

I think it was both awakening at the same time with the light side being more of a morning person jumping out of bed and the dark side being a night owl with it being slow to awaken .

 

See this is what upset me about Lucas after the PT came out. He said in an interview that the force was predominately light. I'm glad his words are no longer canon cause that just doesn't make sense.

I can't get real mad it him though because I have created things that were brilliant, such as drawings. Rather than leaving them alone I got wrapped up in them and couldn't stop thinking. Eventually I would end up with a scribbled out picture and think back, "why didn't I just stop?"

 

The correct answer is...the Cosmic Force. No, seriously, that is the official canon answer. It was in The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary.

The Force didn't create life, it is the other way around. Obi-Wan described it as "an energy field created by all living things." Yoda later said, "Life creates it. Makes it grow." We ARE the Force...from a certain point of view.

 

I've always thought of the force, personally, as an inherently "good" thing but remember that nothing is ever so pure and the adaptations of the force are also "from a certain point of view"...the more that I think about it the force "awakening" could be more of an embodiment of all aspects of the force awakening IN someone .

Rey is the awakening but its the presence of the force that they feel. kinda glad it wasnt Finn. He will awaken in Ep. VIII. from that bed he was laying in at the end of TFA.

Hmmm, a very good post. But could this be a what came first the chicken or the egg debate? The force could have been the first atom in the universe and those quotes from Yoda and Ben would still hold true... from a certain point of view. Life creates it, makes it grow. Grow meaning more of it not born. An energy field created by all living things. Not all living things are created at once.

• the Force "wakes up"

Rey being the obvious choice in the first sense.

The Force itself is perturbed from its lull due to the unnatural exertions of Dark Side Force sensitives such as Kylo Ren, possibly also Snoke and the Knights of Ren.
