The FORCE awaken BUT.....Which side of the FORCE awake???

The Force Awakens surely is referring to just Rey. It awoke when she had the vision and Kenobi said 'These are your first steps". I don't think it means "the Force awakens all over the galaxy because the Force has been sleeping and finally stopped hitting the snooze."

Luke has the Force, Leia has the Force, Kylo has the Force, Snoke has the Force. So it's not like the Force has been dormant or something. Snoke is leading the FO with another Force-sensitive. The Force itself never went to "sleep" except [in Rey]. The Force awakens in Rey.

 

To me, it seemed pretty obvious that the Force was awoken in Rey; dark side awakening isn’t even a question IMO. Why? Only three dark side Force users were referenced in TFA, and the Force was already being used by them or had been with no hint at an awakening, at least on-screen:

-Vader: dead, and it looked like Kylo Ren wasn’t able to wake his Force ghost up, so, nope, not Vader.

-Kylo Ren: he used the Force with great skill in the first few minutes of the film by stopping the blaster bolt mid-air, obviously the Force was already awake in him, so, not Kylo.

-Snoke: the Force is obviously strong with this one, as he is training Kylo and he can sense “an awakening”, read on for further reference to this.

There are a few moments that could qualify as Rey’s awakening moment, let’s review, not in order:

-her interrogation by Kylo Ren

-her piloting of the Millennium Falcon

-her face to face moment with Kylo during the light saber fight

- when she picks up the light saber in Maz’s castle

For me, personally, I’m tracing “the awakening” back to Rey and Finn’s hasty escape off Jakku in the Millennium Falcon with Rey piloting. First of all, she flew the MF like a pro with no experience in that cockpit, amazing Force intervention or just a major plot hole? You be the judge. I’m going to lose myself in the fantasy and say the Force was strong [with that one!]. Once they were safe, they had a high-five session where Rey commented that she didn’t know how she was able to fly like that, etc., etc., etc. Why do I think this was the awakening moment? How else would she have been able to pull of those Han Solo-esque moves any other way?? Kinda like Luke dropping a pair of proton torpedoes down the gullet of the Death Star without his targeting computer on?? Impressive. Most Impressive. (Yes, the hits keep coming) For me, that’s the beginning of the awakening in Rey. Why? Well, shortly after that Snoke mentions to Kylo that there has been an awakening and if he’s felt it, etc., etc., etc. So that’s my long answer to a short question.


Of course, there were other “awakenings”, and an argument could be made for these as well:

-Finn realizing that the murdering, pillaging Stormtrooper life is wrong and he refuses to participate in killing innocent villagers

-R2-D2 wakes up

-possibly Kylo’s “pull to the light”, not sure if that counts, but I’ll throw that in since he got all emo right before he made Han-kabobs

gonna nix the pull to the light for Ren, interesting though it may be.
but prior to Snoke telling Ren that Han has BB-8, Ren is relatively focused on his mission.
we only start to see him actively begin to unravel after he knows his father is involved ~ and that's after Snoke has already mentioned the awakening.
