Has there been a talking Rey?
And why haven't people recorded more from the Phasma and Stormtroopers?
This stuff has been available almost an entire day... more in some parts of the world.

Concerning this 6" pack, I think we might have gotten our first glimpse at a stormtrooper from the SW Battlefront game. I really doubt the third trooper's paint apps are battle damages, and I have no recollection of such paint apps appearing in the EU. I'm surprised they didn't go with the shock trooper we saw in the video game trailer.

Happy 27th Birthday to me! I basically had an impromptu birthday party at the Wal-Mart midnight release last night. They had free cupcakes, free soda, balloons, free Star Wars rings, etc. I took my niece & nephew with me (even though it was a school night, they BEGGED us to go, so I couldn't resist passing down the love of STAR WARS to them, even if that meant some lost sleep on a school night). I had a blast. Here's some of the pictures I took, from my Instagram account.

My ONLY true gripe was the look on my niece's face when there was virtually NO Captain Phasma merchandise, aside from ONE 3.75 inch figure that I got her. She knows that Phasma is a girl and really likes the idea of that character as a villain. I already got her a 3.75 Rey figure, and I told her I would get her the 6 inch Black Series Rey, but she insisted she wanted a Captain Phasma. We had to search long & hard to find that figure. I guess this continues the long tradition at Hasbro of sexism. I've read some unsavory things about them before, and never paid any attention to it, until I witnessed it first hand with Phasma, last night. Sure, there's plenty of Rey on the shelves, she's the lead character, so it's kind of hard not to have her front & center. But aside from t-shirts, there wasn't much Phasma. I'm also surprised that there were none of the 31 or 48 inch figures. And there weren't ANY ship models, other than the small micro machines and Hot Wheels DieCast sets. My little nephew likes Finn, so I got him a 3.75 Finn. And pretty much all of us like Kylo Ren! We stocked up on him lol!

Another thing, did anybody think the Poe Dameron figures looked crazy? I have a 3.75 inch Poe that I got a few months ago before release with his helmet on, so I didn't notice it then, but last night I bought a 3.75 inch Poe without the helmet, and he looked like he was 50 years old. I noticed the Black Series Poe makes him look like a heroin junkie or something. It's kind of strange. Also, Rey is super squinty on the 3.75 figure.

Helping out in a friend's comics and collectables store today for their first birthday.

It's been cold today. Once the rain stopped I went over to the shopping centre nearby and to Target (which I work at) to buy a hoodie (left mine at home).

    Target had no good hoodies.

I walked out with a LEGO First Order Tie Fighter.

    *sigh*

What do you all make of the costume leaks info (story on the main site). Some of the background and new character info sounds cool, but due to some inconsistencies and mistakes in past plot moments (aka, Luke dueling Jabba with the blue lightsaber) ... I'm definitely taking all of this with a brick of salt. There was a bit of a reference to Aftermath and the Empire wanting to use the Darkside of the Force that lean to it being legit also. It seems to me, that's it's strongly implied that Captain Phasma is Force - sensitive.

Matt Martin: Manager of Digital Content and Community Relations at Lucasfilm responded to a twitter question on this. Basically, those costume synopsis' didn't pass through him for approval and if the synopsis' aren't on the costume packaging he says don't trust it. Thus it's probably adapted guess work using official material as the base

    Hope that helps :)

So now I know why no one has uploaded any talking Rey figures...
    Because there isn't one.

But, looking on the product listing on Disneystore.com (the talking figures and voice changing masks are Disneystore exclusives), they claim that the 3 talking figures include "real movie phrases."

They also say that Kylo Ren has 15 phrases and sound effects (we've heard 10 phrases), Finn has 11 Phrases and sound effects (we've heard 8 phrases), and the Stormtrooper has 8 phrases and sound effects (not sure if the 48" Jakks Pacific Stormtrooper has the same phrases).

There are also plush toys of Kylo Ren with voice lines. Haven't seen anyone post them online, though.

Your Wal-Mart report and pics are almost the same as what I saw. We had the cupcakes too! Although there were plenty of toys to choose from, there was next to nothing as far as Captain Phasma merch, and there were no model kits. The store I went to did have the 48" Darth Vader figures.

Like you, I also had a great time. There was no stampede, or rude people. Everyone was really cool, including the employees running the get-together, and there was much of the cameraderie between fellow SW fans that others have mentioned. I also saw a guy around my age who had what was the last 6" Black Series Finn figure in hand give it to a kid who was saying he was disappointed in not finding that figure. That, was a nice thing to see. If the local watering hole had been open, I would have bought that guy a beer.

My Force Friday experience was a good one, and my fellow fans were the reason.

So here is some stuff I think is interesting:
    - Poe's Xwing Fighter in outer space with one of the new star destroyers up in flames.
    - MF out in space above a very cloudy planet, possibly the snowed planet.
    - Resistance Xwing Fighter. This seems like the shot from the trailer but the mountains are visible and that to me seems like snow.
I think this snowed planet has a forest and water. It seems to be cold but not as much as Hoth. I think it will be different enough from Hoth to distance itself from it.

Like that blue glowing ring around the blaster. That will be amazing in a night time battle.

We've also seen that micromachine Star Destroyer with the scorch marks, so the Star Destroyer on fire seems to fit with that... will be interesting to see how that works out.
I'm still not sure about that X-wing shot from the first teaser. I personally see low clouds/mist in the mountains rather than snow... but the place still looks cold. SW Databank however says Starkiller was an ice planet, which doesn't really seem to fit either, but then again, we also know that there are forests around the base.
Maybe the base has melted the ice and changed the entire planet's climate?

And assuming that those are your kits, I want to see some sort of review on them... I'm probably likely to wait until the Bandai kits are released next month, but I'm still curious to see these.

Interesting that his First Order blaster fires blue. Everything else we've seen of First Order blasters shows the traditional red.
    Is it set to stun?

I have those Revell kits on the way, and I'll be doing reviews of each of them in the Please Post Pictures of Your Collection thread in the Collector's part of the forum. I'll be reviewing the Bandai kits as well, when they become available.

On the subject of Star Destroyers, I'm looking at the Micro Machines and Titanium SD's, and the MM ship has those burn marks on the underside of the hull, but the Titanium does not. Probably doesn't mean anything, but I found it interesting nonetheless.
