It was pretty good for the majority of the episode - and then I absolutely lost it when the music swelled, those doors opened, and Ahsoka was standing there. Awesome, absolutely awesome from that point onward!

Based on the snark in her voice when she said his name, it sounds like the 7th Sister is a higher rank than the 5th brother - most assumptions so far seem to have been the opposite, which never made sense in how they acted, so it's good to have semi-confirmation of that. I do presume we will lose #5 since they are focusing on #7 the most.

I've had no problem with the simpler episodes this season...I don't see them as any different than the similar ones last season. I actually like the more episodic breaks here and there instead of one huge narrative racing forward. I'm just enjoying the ride. Even so, episodes like this really energize the overall narrative. Love this show!

True, but it would as be lame to have a show full of people they are afraid to kill off. I thought that's why they had two. One to bite the dust and be replaced.

A few other stray observations after a second viewing...

    - The moment of Ahsoka's entrance was an elegant parallel to Darth Maul's entrance in the Phantom Menace. The doors slide open, revealing the opponent to the two ready and willing combatants...a nice moment of deja vu.

    - Another great moment of deja vu - and a great comparison between the former master and apprentice - was Ahsoka's choice of words to SS after emerging victorious. "You are beaten," she proclaimed. My mind instantly flashed back to Empire Strikes Back, when Vader tossed Luke to the ground and pointed his lightsaber at this throat and proclaimed "You are beaten - it is useless to resist. Don't let yourself be destroyed as Obi-Wan did". I just thought the fact that the apprentice would use the same choice words was a nice touch.

    - The hierarchy between SS and FB is interesting. Their first appearance definitely left the impression that with the death of the Grand Inquisitor, that there wasn't really an established pecking order, that everyone was jockeying for top spot. But now it appears that FB holds some sort of superiority over SS - although watching her revel in his failures was amusing. He certainly didn't distinguish himself any further in the battle against Ahsoka, either - while SS at least hung in, FB was tossed aside like a rag doll multiple times. If he holds the senior rank to SS, it doesn't appear that that was based on any sort of prodigious skill.

    - I think we are due at some point for an "all hands on deck" episode. We've had a number of episodes in a row now where one or more members of the crew are left behind for key missions. It feels like it's high time that everyone reunite with a common task - as we head towards the Christmas break, my money is on that happening.

I wondered that also. There didn't appear to be any recognition by Ashoka, and the Sister - if she is Barriss - seems to be the type that would have taunted her with old knowledge of Clone Wars failings.

There's no way they would have had them face off the way they did and just "not recognize one another". So yes, this pretty much debunks the Barrios Offee theory.

Barris could be 1st Sister or better yet since they introduced Vaders fist in the comics she could be a Emperors hand agent.

What if The Emperor has stored vials of Vader's blood in an attempt to crest force users that are more powerful than even Vader himself and The Inquisitors are his testing bed ?

Vader isn't near the strength of the Emperor. He had the potential to be but you know he had his little accident. He fell on a lightsaber and rolled over on some lava.

You'd really think that a loss of limbs would decrease his power ?

It did. Suit literally keeps him alive, and make him more vulnerable (exposed controls of his LS). Also it was hinted several times in EU that Emperor is disappointed in his apprentice, thats why he was so eager to replace him with Luke.

Also SS can't be Barris, she is far to weak, she was dominated and humiliated by Ahsoka even with support of other Inquisitor. Barris actually beat Ahsoka, so their duel should be much more even.

    About episode:
I loved it. Of course Tano fight was the very best moment, the way this fight was portrayed, how she dominates two of Inquisitors, totally in control all the time, tossing them like dolls, going as far, as defeating one of them without use of lightsabers. I believe it is true that Ahsoka is for Inquisitors what Vader is for Ezra and Kanan. Totally different level.

I was referring to his ability of power in regards to The Force .

She learned from her master who was a tinker. She turned her tinker knowledge into a force feat.

The cumulative affect of the injuries both the loss of multiple limbs and extreme burns did reduce his abilities.

I'm not sure how we stand on this now, but in EU artificial limbs and vulnerable suit electronics denies him ability to cast force lightning.

That would make sense from a literal POV, with the Lightning messing with his suit...but if he could crush someone's throat from across the galaxy, that proves just how powerful he is, even after Mustafar .

I think we can accept a lot of what the EU told us about cannon characters. They aren't going to rewrite expanded back stories of all these characters.

You don't get what I'm saying. the EU filled in and created parts of the SW universe. They are recreating that universe some of it with some of the same material that was in the EU so until they specifically change something the EU explanation is still plausible. For Instance they introduced Inquisitors in Rebels they already existed in the EU so is the EU really gone.
