Can we merge the two competing trailer threads?

 

I am going to watch it 1 million times and pull things out but I agree, they are holding back. The poster was very cool. More theories I am getting, my brain is overreacting! I'll rejoin the thread when I clear my thoughts and find things.

Interesting if true that both Luke and Snoke are potentially moving away from simply Dark and Ligh Side only concepts.

Of course this contradicts what Lor San Tekka said "without the Jedi there can be no balance". Maybe LST had it wrong? Or maybe Luke was wrong. He certainly seemed to be training Rey in something, Force manipulation and Light saber work.

What has Luke discovered that eluded all the Jedi before him about the need for them to end I wonder?

 

But is anyone else worried about "The First Order Strikes Back" ?

We have AT-ATs.. not on snow.. but on sand...

I just hope it doesnt feel like another rehash

So it seems like that island has to be the remnants of some old Jedi Temple as we all thought. End of the Jedi though? Very interesting! Im assuming @CaptainPhastastic is right by saying grey is the way. It probably has something to do with this "tug-o-war" of power between the Jedi and the Sith, and he feels like if the Jedi re-emerge, it will be continuing the cycle. Obviously he found out the hard way when his Jedi academy went wrong and Kylo ruined everything. The one thing we didn't get almost any info about was the First Order and the KOR (including Snoke).

 

Anyone who thought it would be an TESB rehash change their mind after that?

Absolutely loved it btw. Perfect teaser, gives you a peek but raises more questions than answers.

 

I think it's story, not marketing. I'm excited they are giving Luke an interesting an unexpected character arc. And I'm glad that there is something significant at stake. The best part of this whole Trilogy is that anything could happen - and that includes the Jedi coming to an end.

I don't think that is ultimately what will happen - but I like knowing there is risk.

 

I think all the people worried about an ESB rehash of a snow planet and walkers can relax. That definitely isn't snow.

Always possible that last line isnt even used. Kinda like the Tie in Rogue One.

 

The Trailer was great because it was different. Not like these modern trailers. It took its time "to breath".

Honestly, I feel the same way. Every single thing is red. The SW Movie outlines have always been yellow, this one is red. The poster is 90% red. Too much red. Starting to think even more that TFO will end up ruling the galaxy and that's how they will continue. (10,11, and 12)

 

Like to the people complaining about the end of the Jedi line, what do you want from a movie? Zero tension? No mystery? The prequels?
