May not ... The one wielding this saber assumes the position of Mandalorian leader. Does Mando want to take such position, responsibility and burden? Maybe yes driven by responsibility for the clan and to restore Mandalore to it's former glory. Maybe not, willing to continue living a simple live. That's not a simple thing to do.

Surely they did! But Mandalore is not the only planet they were living on. So I think there is a chance many of them survived.

I don't think so. Mandalore was the central planet, and all the other colonies were less populated and had a small Mandalorian presence.
Once you've taken out the largest faction, it'd be a hell of a lot easier to mop up the rest.

You are right, they probably separated from Vizsla's Death Watch a long time ago (at least as long as our Mando was with them, so 30+ years). Maybe, they didn't like his politicking and Pre's deal with Maul.

This 100%. There isn't even a hint of anything romantic/sexual between them. I can totally see them drinking Corellian Ale and chasing tail together. :D

Just imagine the two of them walking together in a cantina, heads would swoon, male and female, human and alien alike. ;)

Mandalore's population was not big, they were living in domed cities. Yes they knew they are easy target so they must have taken some measures to prevent total extinction. The planet was devastated by many wars so it could not sustain large population. Concordia was also populated since ancient times, probably also with small population, or let's say not very big. I doubt that they are all killed. My expectation is that there are many small enclaves, groups, call them as you like, who are dispersed through the galaxy growing their numbers and waiting the right moment to come back to Mandalore and Concordia and to reclaim it.

Edit: I forgot to mention both planets had deep mines, due to the extensive mining of beskar they had a lot of ancient mines. Who knows what is still in the mines. Probably some portion of the population hid in the old mines and survived.

I was kind of surprised they split again. Cara was covering him with her own body, then they just say: ok goodbye I will have a different path now. Kind of strange relationship. She was like : I will die with you but not let you get captured by those imps. And a few moments later : raising a kid is totally not my thing, goodbye!

Just watched it. So good so many things! Cara from Alderaan was a super cool drop for me, not sure why. Darksaber is soooo good and I love that Moff’s are trying to copy Vader’s style. Season 2 Mando and BbYoda finding out more about the jedi, oh yeah everybody, now THIS is podracing.

Well, it's only the first season. Can't rush these things. :p

Seriously though...we know Din longs for that kind of closeness, based his interactions with Omera in ch. 4, but that episode also told us he made the choice not to go there, even before he knew he had to take Babyoda and leave. Cara--well, she might have been shielding him with her body and holding his hand and pleading with him not to go, but those were actions under extreme duress. Unconscious reactions, as it were. I think her conscious mind she's like nope nope nope. Which makes sense, given her background and the way she's also chosen to live.

Just realistic for both of them in this situation. Though Din did seem surprised she was going to stay on Nevarro, he didn't protest too hard. Maybe he knows she's in season 2. :p

The Empire was not fully dead after Return of The Jedi. It was very weak, but before the battle of Jakku, Moffs and troopers still were around, the Empire was just not what it once was.

The empire is gone, but the imperial navy was so big, spread across the galaxy, they cannot disappear in one day, or even in several years. The different parts remain in a paramilitary style organizations. Fighting for there own thing. The troopers become mercenaries. The Moffs become crime lords. In any case they are well armed, well organized and still hold a strong punch no matter in which direction they go.

No one really, a Moff or anyone with any authority or power is a crime lord now, fighting for themselves.

Seeing the Darksaber was spectacular, AND we have to remember this:

The saber was created by Tarre Vizla, who was the first Mandalorian ever to be inducted into the Jedi Order in 1019 BBY, and the saber was held in the Jedi archives for a time until the Mando clan "House Vizla" stole it back.

ALSO of note, we'll remember the Mandalorian that confronted Mando and tried to remove his helmet, THEN flew alongside the Razor Crest with his jetpack and saluted Mando.....that was Paz Vizla....descendant of the creator of the Darksaber, and likely RIGHTFUL owner of the blade....

We're likely gonna see him again now that we've seen the Darksaber, because he's gonna want that thing BACK!!

Don't get me wrong, it's highly watchable but I'm not going to think about this during the whole week like some shows you really get into.

I absolutely don't hate it but I don't love it either.

Loved the episode thoroughly, and the whole season. A few highlights for me:
    - Biker scout scene- hilarious!
    - IG-11 mopping them up, superb! Second best action scene in the episode (The baby-Nanny has quite the perfected Hapkido technique! I train and teach in that style and I was like- that was awesome!
    - The Forger’s fight scene- best scene in the episode and possibly in the series. Bo Katan?
    - The darksaber!!!! Yes.

well done F and F. Will binge watch all of these now

Wasn’t that Favreau himself? That would be kind of weird if the showrunner made his own character that significant in the story, yeah? Hell, that's probably what I would do though :D

Haha, well this is a series where the title character is largely just a voice ;)
