I loved how many times the Scout Troopers missed the junk they were shooting at.

Awesome conclusion. I hope the next season is as good. They should take their time. Also, this was Gary Gygax's favorite episode. But who can tell me why?

Great avatar! Should Moff Gideon be redeemed like Kylo Ren? Who is more evil Moff Gideon or Kylo Ren? If Kylo Ren was redeemed why can't Moff Gideon? Isn't your type of villain???

I loved this Show so far. Crazy how only a Month ago my interest in new Star Wars content was low considering how disappointed I have been with Disney's Sequel Trilogy. This show has rekindled my love for Star Wars. I haven't felt this good about Star Wars since the hype days before TFA came out.

    Thoughts on last night's episode:
    • I think it's safe to assume Bo-Katan is dead, or at the very least was gravely injured for Gideon to obtain the Darksaber.
    • This means the Mandalorian revolution shortly after Rebels was either was very successful, or very unsuccessful. Sounds like the Empire bombed the absolute blast out of, or sterilised Mandalore, like Geonosis, just to be safe. Not that hard considering they'd already destroyed their planet so much, they had to live in domes to survive. They make easy targets.
    • Mando's face reveal was very underwhelming. I knew it'd just be Pedro Pascal's face... but still, yawn. This is why you don't hype up something trivial.
    • The Deathtroopers are meant to be elite troops, but they just seemed so disorganised and clumsy. A shame.
    • They really need to improve on the jetpacks in this show. Watching these Mandalorians flying around is so underwhelming compared to Jango Fett in AOTC.
    • That astromech with arms and legs will haunt my dreams.
    • When that Stormtrooper fell into the forge. Damn.
    • The opening scene with the two Scouts. Classic Taika. Gunned down his own troops, shot an officer for asking too many questions xD.
    • They're really giving a retelling of Jango Fett's legends backstory to Mando, huh? Both were on a colony world, parents died and they were adopted by Mandalorians, joined Deathwatch...

I want a whole season of Baby and IG. That opening sequence is Taika at his best. I loved the interplay between the Scout Troopers, the sight gags of them missing so badly with their blasters, and everything leading up to IG's entrance and rampage through the town.

This seemed to wrap the season up well, introduce new information for next season, upgrade our hero like a video game level up, and move us forward with a really solid conflict and roadmap for season 2. We have a clan of two, the Mudhorn Clan, both Foundlings. We have a jetpack. And we have a weaponsmith/elder/guide who is a force of nature and will be back to continue our hero's climb from obscurity to greatness.

I was completely geeking out at the thought of The Mandalorian having to become The Mandalore once he wins the Darksaber from Moff Gideon despite his desire to be a leader. The Foundling becomes the champion.

I also really loved the western, samurai, and mythology references throughout this episode. The droid boatman down the fiery river of death for IG was perfect.

    Random thoughts

    1. If Dyn Jaryn was rescued by Deathwatch isn't it highly probable he knows of the dark saber?

    2. Anybody think Moff Gideon might be a Mandolorian traitor, and whatever he did to acquire the dark saber also assisted in the Imperials conquering Mandalore?

    3. I don't think we will see a Jedi in season two but Sabine Wren or Bo-Katan Kryze That I could believe.

    4. Moff Gideon best Star Wars villain I've seen in awhile. I LOVE the he told Greef "Hell naw you can't trust me".

5.Smart move by Disney I'm about to rewatch Rebels.

Excellent episode and the best of the season, no doubt. I knew it would end on a high note, because I watch all of Filoni's stuff, and he knows how to apply the standard SW formula. This episode had almost every bit of that magic. I also predicted babyoda getting a name, which didn't happen, but the sigil and face reveal was nice. I really liked that the sigil wasn't a "yoda head".

I've always thought that the smith is Bo-Katan, but maybe it's Sabine. In any case that reveal could be big if it ever comes,

The super F team is doing it right!

During the buildup to the sigil reveal as the smith was making their connection, I was thinking that she was forging a piece of Mandalorian armor for babyoda. I'm sure they toyed with that idea.

Even if a casual viewer is discovering the Darksaber for the first time, it’s most likely still cool for them too. We all had to learn about it for the first time at some point.

Can’t wait for Mando to wield the Darksaber!

Great episode. Not my favorite of the season but the one who's ending made me surprised the most (aside from maybe Episode 1, it's a very close finish). Great action, great humor, fantastic development of the overall story. Just a joy to watch from start to end.

I watch the show with my parents who are casual SW fans in that they only watch the movies (except my father who read a few of the EU novels back in the day) and I loved their reaction to the Darksaber (which I totally explained the significance of to them). Very, very excited to see where it goes in Season 2.

It's just a sci-fi serial in the popular "space western" style. Those who like Star Wars will definitely know what it is and will like it. Those who doesn't will probably enjoy it as in situ show. Good thing, which I love btw, is that it is not too much loaded with Star Wars lore. The action take place in new time frame, in the outer rim territories of the galaxy, by character we didn't see so far, not on the main action line of Star Wars, btw what is the main action line?, so it is an easy going show with many Star Wars elements which I believe is easy to accept and follow. It doesn't push boundaries, it doesn't set too ambicious goals, it's just follow the live of a mandalorian bounty hunter as it happens, no one try to save the galaxy, no one become the galaxy's greatest hero, the characters just do what they have to do to survive. I am surprised how good this was, compared to the last two full time Star Wars movies that Disney produced. I start to think what's going on at Diesney's?!

I think it was too much bla-bla ... do scout troopers behave so childish? after all these are one of the most professional soldiers of the empire. When there are ordinary storm troopers and scout troopers, the second assume command, so they are higher ranking by default.

Here's a great little explainer video that sums up the canon Manda-lore before the series.

Yeah I raised my beer to Jon, Dave, Taika, and the crew after the episode!
