I don't mind the paint job, it makes given that the previous paint job was pretty well worn off that he'd freshen it up. I just hope we get to see it got worn as he wears it more.

I'm honestly a little (er, a lot) bummed that we didn't get a Boba Fett spin-off announced. Though I guess it would a bit too much Mando saturation if we got that and more Mandalorian seasons.

Just saw this superb episode! Just when I think they can't raise the bar any higher another level is reached.

Absolutely LOVE the Mayfeld character.....I honestly did not know how they were going to integrate him into this story. But holy crap what a great job Bill Burr did....the drinking scene with the Imperial Officer was just incredible. Really opened up a facet of his character we did not know about, and wow I did not see him killing the guy like that....!!

So now this season we have Cobb Vanth and now Mayfeld.....arriving where they are in their character arcs from two very different directions. But still love them both.

The message to Gideon at the end is just so badass....

I didn't think much to the Mayfield character at first but his moral transformation--albeit a quick one--made for an enjoyable episode, and I was sad to see him leave after they fleshed him out, his backstory and motivations.

Why did Dinn's face work on the terminal? Surely a modicum of security would ensure only imperial staff have access to vital information. "Give us your face. Any face. Okay, thanks. The coordinates of our main starcruiser? Yeah, sure."

Also, Dinn, a seasoned warrior, adapt surly at the element of surprise, blows caution to the wind and decides to give Moff a prewarning; a development of his emotions, sure, but tactically unwise. And Gideon, the guy apparently in charge of the entire empire, looked afraid of a single Mandalorian.

It's Star Wars...why are tractor beam controls on the outside of a pedestal 1,000 feet high in a shaft , with no railings around it? Why are the antenna controls for the main transmission antenna on Scarif on the outside end of a 500 foot long extension off the main antenna pedestal? Why do most spacecraft emit steam out of doors when they open on the ground? Why does the Empire maintain all of the data they control on what appear to be 8-track tapes, in a 1,000 foot tall CD tower?

Rewatched the episode mainly for the chase. I love me vehicle chases and especially in Star Wars! But also because I enjoy seeing Din in action and being such a badass.

He's truly become one of my favorite star wars characters and this has focus and character development on him, so that's a major bonus! That ending sure also makes me give a big smirk. Love it!

Yeah at least the season's story line--now flesh out after the dragon and spider side quests have faded in memory--has made these small annoyances insignificant. I guess, as with the original series, they'll be plot holes but viewers will suspend their disbelieve if they're engaged with the storyline, something I'm glad to say has now happened.

So, I watched the episode late this week and won’t do a running commentary, just a quick conclusion.

Chapter 15: The Believer was a decent episode, quite action’y but also full of world-building and charm.

I thought Chapter 6: The Prisoner from last season was the weakest by far, a real dud, and I felt sorry for Rick Famuyiwa for having been sidled with this thing. This episode, however, made that episode better! Or at least it gave it some good context for The Prisoner.

Mayfeld is a lot cooler and more charming this time around!

The officer (Valin Hess) was fantastic! A real a-hole officer, and I loved it.

Cool to see things from an Imperial perspective for once, with all the camaraderie and barracks culture :D

All in all, this episode was solid but nothing special for a show with so much greatness. In any other show, this chapter might’ve been the warm and charismatic heart of a season, bringing it all together, but in Mando, which already has warmth and charisma and so much more in its marrow, this was an all right filler, I thought. Also, _THIS_ is what The Mandalorian would’ve been all about had it not been for Grogu. Cool stuff though, no doubt about it :D

Don't get me wrong, I love the little green guy, but there's a big part of me that wishes it was just Mando being a badass and simple action episodes like this.

Even the movies in the OT had these little “annoyances”—-did the Millenium Falcon being eaten on the asteroid in TESB move the story along at all?

There's something both adorable and heartbreaking about seeing Din without his mask. Both times it's happened now, all at once his outwardly cool, tough, professional aura goes away and then he seems so sad and innocent and vulnerable. A sharp contrast from Boba who's still pretty tough and scary even without his mask.

    Great episode.

Yeah but Bo-Katan and Gorgu will help him embrace it. I believe and hope he'll remove the helmet for Gorgu at the end of the next episode and then go into season 3 removing it at times when not in action like Bo-Katan.

    End of season 3:

As far as the face scan, there's no way it could recognize Din because his face hasn't been out for anyone to see since he was a kid. So, worst thing that scanner could do is say "not authorized" which, sure, I don't know why it didn't do that, but again there's no way it could have recognized him.

TPS reports are a thing in the galaxy far, far away. That name drop put a big smile on my face.
