    Maul showed her no pity.

    ***

(pwned)It's ironic. Look how far the little princess has fallen.... the Night Owls & the Death Watch are terrorists, aren't they? (pwned)

    ***

All jokes aside, I do love how deep her story really is....

How do you figure that, my mate? I can't remember she having been portrayed as either a nationalist (well, more than any of these warrior culture types) nor a racist? My interest is peaked :)

IDK - how did she react to the Pykes and Black Sun? Nothing noteworthy to me.

I can't recall Bo doing/ saying anything like "we don't serve their kind in here".

I knew for certain some guys would have an easy time telling us they had a tough time watching Din have a tough time of it in this episode. Bring back shameful memories of watching your dad miss out on a parking space at the mall on a Saturday morning, did it? [IMG]

Think of it this way. This is Din's pilgrimage. Sure we're all familiar with heroes facing trials alone and coming out victorious as a rite of passage.

But this is not about glory. It's not a quest. It's about satisfying his creed, contrition and his desire to atone. And going on a pilgrimage like that that can often mean being haplessly subjected to an ordeal. Unlike Bo Katan, or Grogu, he's the one choosing to do it, purely because he's been told to it's what he needs to do. So of course Bo Katan, who is despondent, cynical and her faith is diminished, isn't subject to the same hardships. But she may be having it restored somewhat by being there to witness Din's blind adherence to the myths and rituals. (And is conveniently on hand to keep him, and the show, from suffering a permanent case of death.)

It's also perfectly reasonable to assume that once she got there, she became more curious about the place and what Din was planning to do. And she gave herself that excuse to tag along the rest of the way.

Oh and I loved the moment when Bo Katan mentions that he father died defending Mandalore.......(big pause,)...and Din responds "This is the way."

Don't tell me you all didn't mouth those words a good couple of seconds before Din spoke them!

I looked at the line as a big reveal to Bo Katan's character at that point. She is a proud leader who we're seeing at her lowest moment.

Notice how she was all set to tell Din to 'go to hell' when his starfighter returned to her castle. Yet the moment she realized Grogu was alone and Din was in trouble, she didn't hesitate a second to come to his aid. That told viewers all they need to know about who Bo Katan really is.

Later, after she's saved Din and he's telling her he's hellbent on continuing with his quest for the living waters of Mandalore, she's too proud to respond with, "Oh, okay, I guess I'll tag along with you." Instead, her insecurity dictates she make Din feel like he needs her to do it.

Its a subtlety you wouldn't expect to see in a 'kid's show' like Mando. But Bo's flaws make her (IMO) a much more compelling character.

well death watch at its core is obsessed with making mandalore "mandalorian by any means necessary through collateral damage and domestic terrorism. She tried to overthrow a legitimate judgement in order to regress back to barbaric warrior ways. And it was death watch who betrayed maul and dissolved the shadow collective. Maul comes back after being wronged and challenges pre vizla to combat using his own barbaric laws. Pre Vizla agrees and before dying says only the strongest shall rule, acknowledging the outcome. Bo katan rejects this because she hates red people and continues being a terrorist. Also shes mean anyway and guilt trips everyone over satine even though she attempted to over through satines government.

Just to clarify a misconception that may be rooted in recent events...
Nationalism is not an inherently bad or negative stance. In the situation here, IF you can even consider it Nationalism, it is based in fighting against an oppressive invader. As far as her racism against "red people" I can only assume you're injecting humor into the situation, surely you can't seriously put that label on her based on her interactions with a single being.
I don't know enough from TCW to know anything about this, but let's not forget the entire series was based around a "Hero" who in cold-blood, slaughtered millions, including children and elderly.

Maul was TOO evil for Bo Katan.... which many found ironic given her Death Watch / pro terror ways.

She is like, medium rare evil. Or was.

Disney luvs them sum princesses tho and Star Wars hasn't a real one for a minute.... Katie is worthy of carrying such a torch and the Mando story is rich enough to support whatever they want to do with Boba's clones.

    THIS! ^^^^

Just felt this dead-on take from @Martoto deserved special recognition. To Mando, it is not a quest, it is The Way.

Thank you to the folks that make this show. So much great stuff for Star Wars in this episode.

    Bo Katan said:
    "my father died defending Mandalore."
    The Mandalorian said:
    "This is the way."

    upload_2023-3-13_13-20-49.jpeg

you can pretty much take these 2 scenes and inject them straight into my veins.

Great episode. I liked the interactions between Grogu, Bo Katan & Mando on the way to the Living Waters.

I do hope (leia) that the mythosaur turns out to be Godzilla-sized. Or if not, it turns out to be a baby. One more foundling.

What if they get a look at the full size mythosaur and realise "There's no danking way any Mandalorian ever tamed or rode that thing. It's ludicrous to contemplate it and utterly impractical in reality.... We've been lied to the whole time!" :p

On the other hand, if word spread like wildfire hroughout the galaxy that: 1) Mandalore is not the uninhabiitable, poisonous world everyone assumed; 2) that the Dark Saber had been won in combat by a Mandalorian bounty hunter named Din Djarin; 3) a legendary mythosaur has been found in the living waters beneath the mines of Mandalore and 4) last but not least, the creature has been tamed and ridden by Din Djarin, what do you think the response would be?

I'd guess ol' Din would find himself with a near-universal following of displaced Mandalorians.
