I think Maz will be vital in teaching finn...how to fire a blaster

 

random thought that occurred to me the last time i watched TFA:

if Maz Kanata stole the lightsaber from Kylo Ren (which there's a good chance she did, right?), of course she's going to put Han off when he asks about it.

so in that regard, it's not quite so much character stalling for the sake of the plot as character stalling to avoid getting embroiled in painful family business in front of complete strangers while they're being attacked by said painful family business.

it doesn't make it less of a stall, but it feels possibly more motivated?

does anyone know what maz says to han in huttese? i haven't seen it discussed anywhere. looking at the huttese language site i figured some of it out though i can't figure out the first word she says. something like, "han, ________ no wata." which is, "han, ______ not here."

does anyone know what the first word/words she says are? something like, "your place is not here."

 

wasn't sure where to dump this. can someone with headphones and good ears tell us what you think gets said in a ghostly whisper right after Maz Kanata says "the lightsaber, take it" at about the 1:08 mark in TFA?

Dumblr has lit up with conjectures. i can definitely hear a whisper, but i can't make out the words.

anybody?

 

I put the blu-ray into my pc's blu-ray player and listened with headphones. Don't hear anything unusual. Then Rey reacts: "I'm never touching that thing again."

It wouldn't surprise me to see tumblr doctor the audio for their conspiracies.

I just saw some video where the guy says that Rey's virginity belongs to Kylo because they think Rey said "Ben".

anyway:

there is a sound on the track (maybe on DVD but not on BluRay?). not sure if it's ambient or purposeful and i don't have the ears for this sort of thing. so if someone else hears it let me know. if i'm going to debunk Dumblr nonsense, i'd like to do it with concrete information and not the presumption of "doctoring" and the whims the "creepy weirdos".

 

Yeah the sounds is very faint, IMHO it sounds a bit like tdk tumbler door opening.

 

hahaha that's awesome! maybe it is something mechanical. the initial hiss sounds like it could be a word, but what follows doesn't to me.

either way i can't think of anything that would make sense in context of the scene.

It's too bad that she and Serkis are the only ones not lending their voice to the Lego game coming out next week.

Her voice was the thing I liked most about Maz.
