I'm invested after 3 episodes. It is a kid show, but I'm a big kid so I don't care. There's enough to interest me. More Star Wars for everyone!

They aren't necessarily dead. It's not Hosnian Prime, and most of them are not Resistance. I'm sure even with what happened in VIII that there are spies for the Resistance all over the galaxy. The Poe Dameron comic even eludes to some of the members out in the galaxy doing other things.

Watched it last night and...I liked it. Rebels was hit or miss for me and I was worried about that show after viewing the first episode . (I never grew to like Ezra)

Resistance was fun and the animation reminded me of Iron Man The Armored Adventures (Which I enjoyed).

The characters in Resistance were good, although the lead character was a little annoying. My favorite parts were seeing the early days of the First Order.

And for those who are saying this show is for kids...So? It's still a fun show. We'll get plenty of more "adult" Star Wars content soon enough.

It's clearly not the early days on the 1st order for it happens 6 months before TFA.

Why would they be dead? Based on the timeline a season or two will likely happen before TFA/TLJ and the show could pass the events in those two films and sit nicely in the gap between TLJ and Episode IX.

Also, I don't think this show is any more for kids than Rebels.

i got this on Amazon Prime for a buck and some change (no pirate cove for me, mateys!) XD

    i loved it!

yeah, there's some nitpicks. i thought the crowd scenes were weak (it's animation: copy-paste, people!). and some of the story beats are shellacked over to get to the race (but who cares?). the bar was great, the race was fun, and i'm okay with Kaz as our hero. he's not a kid like Ezra, so he feels like he has more agency that isn't driven by snot-nosedness. i love that moment with his father on the holocom.

i agree that BB-8 needs to get back to Poe; let's see Kaz build a relationship with his own astromech.

also: waitaminnit: so Kaz was in the New Republic fleet, no? how did he just "drop out" of that? there's some weirdness there i don't get.

otherwise, can't wait to see how the spy mission develops!

    i'm all in! : D

Hm, you’re absolutely right, Kaz is a deserter to the New Republic, he has gone AWOL. I’m not sure if Leia can fix that story in the background.

I don’t think that the reappearance of figures on that base is just lazy paste and copy. At the moment I’m sitting in a big building with about 500 co-workers. And time and again I will see familiar faces when going down 2 floors to get to the good coffee machine in the atrium. I think it’s a closed environment with a restricted number of residents, so it’s probably on purpose that they show those characters from the 2nd to 5th tier for us to get familiar.

Well, it isn't TCW or Rebels.

I found it too cartoony, which is likely attributed to the animation style and colors.

There was something about the dialog delivery...seemed literally slow and sometimes even maybe clunky.

It's definitely a kid-cartoon, and while I'm happy that SW is continuing on television, I'd be happy to stick with it's predecessors.

I had a hard time watching it...didn't HATE it or anything, just kind of had a hard time staying interested, and I don't suppose I'll miss anything if I decide not to watch it.

no, you misunderstand me: i was saying there weren't enough spectators on the platform and all they had to do was copy paste a bunch of people to make more of a throng. just seemed to diminish the stakes of the race to think of the local crowd being so small (though i guess people probably watch this by holo off the platform elsewhere).

hopefully we get an explanation about Kaz leaving the NR Force? i doubt he's a deserter (Poe wasn't so far as i understand it).
just seems like there's story there that needs explaining ~ especially if it was Kaz's father that got him there, etc. : D

Really loving this show so far! I could never get TCW to hold my attention that well, and I have never seen Rebels, so I don't have much of a comparison. But I was really pleasantly surprised by Resistance.

Okay, question on the episode length here - was the 45 minute episode I streamed on Amazon broken into three 15 minute long TV episodes? Or maybe there is just the one episode available on Amazon, whereas DisneyNow has 3?

I was actually surprised by the episode length, too. It's a bit long for a kids show, at least the ones I'm used to. Not saying that as a bad thing, just different! And for what its worth, it held my 2 year old's attention pretty well.. as much as is possible at that age, haha. He usually doesn't give "new" shows a chance and prefers something he's seen 100 times instead. But this he was fairly glued to. We were trying to get him to eat during the show, and he kept pushing our hands out of the way so he could see the TV instead.
    :)

Aunt Zee? Or something like that. She was one of my favorites as well :D

    Also-
I laughed way too hard at Kaz sitting on the bar stool that was not a bar stool, and the offended droid's reaction. XD

the whole cantina scene was great. saw someone objecting to a "bar" for a kiddie show, but it's not like there were half-naked waitresses and everyone was drunk or anything. even the fight was pretty mild all things considered. : D

I'm glad to see people liking this. I watched the first episode (2 episodes together?) on TV...and had a hard time making it through it, unfortunately.

It is definitely geared more for younger kids, moreso than Rebels. Which is fine. In fact, I am kinda glad - I don't think TCW really ever was geared toward kids, so it is good to see a true kid's show in the SW universe. Rebels was somewhere in the middle, but I still loved it (the OT timeframe is my favorite, so there was a lot of nostalgia involved for me).

I was hoping I'd like it at least enough to watch it, but I'm still on the fence. It really felt like I spent almost an hour slowly re-reading the one or two sentence synopsis that I had read prior to watching it. I remember vividly watching the first episode of Rebels and being on the fence through most of the first episode, but by the end was completely hooked. That didn't happen for me here - at least yet.

Not knocking the show in any way, just stating my thoughts for reference, in case three are others like me. I have no notion that every SW property has to fit MY taste...but I'm hoping it will grow on me.
