I am kind of upset at this glaring inconsistent lack of detail:

I mean... come on... how many more times are we going to go through this?

The storyline on the Sequel Trilogy may be good, and some other things I do enjoy, but COME ON Disney this is just sloppy....

    Sigh.

Whoa, that is bad - unless that shot in the trailer is actually a flashback with a different, less permanent injury?

They can still move the scar with CGI.

And stop thinking "Disney" is responsible for everything in the new Star Wars, even the placement of the scar of Kylo...

It starts from the top. Mismanagement leads to mismanaged employees and mismanaged details.

They can still move the scar? The fact its there and in an official permanent teaser trailer gives me pause.

They have been doing this stuff the entire Sequel Trilogy thus far, and I am NOT impressed. Yes no movie is perfect, but come on, this was something big a major plot point, and you put it in the wrong spot?

The equivalent of changing the color of Anakins blue lightsaber to orange for example and saying "Woops!"

Dang. Wow. Didn't see that at first! I hope they fix it, like Vader's neck gap in Rogue One. It takes people like us pointing it out, it seems. Haha.

Come on, guys. It just a mistake. Mistakes happen. They can still change it. It doesn't affect the story of TLJ though.

Anakin's scar moved around a lot, too... a family trait?

Agreed. Its overlook able. Still, not pleased. It was a careless mistake.

Darth Vader would be choking someone right about now. Admiral Ozzel.

I doubt it was a mistake. Maybe they didn't want a giant scar distracting from the character?
Also, I'm pretty sure Disney has nothing to do with it. Or at least I think Bob Iger has better things to do than managing scar looks...

It it possible that Bacta can fade it to the point of it seeming smaller or shorter?

Um , it's still in post production and 8 months out from being released. I think they know what they're doing.

You're just unfamiliar with extra-galactic healthcare and surgical procedures. Every face job after a light saber wound requires completely healing the original wound by making a smaller incision near the effected area.

If anything this goes to show how dedicated Iger is to ensuring every nuance of Star Wars moving forward adheres to GL's specifically laid out medical traditions for the galaxy far, far away.

Maybe Kylo had the same doctor as Chewie and he told about his adventures and got in touch with his feelings and it healed him.

People are assuming that's the tree burning in the background. I think this is a shot from the force back with the burning temple. It's just a different injury. A scratch.

I doubt that the force vision scenes would present such a close up shot... Similar to TFA, those are much rather going to be dream-like, and from Rey's perspective imo.

It seems like Battlefront 2 got the scar right:

Have you heard of Anakin Skywalker and "healing?"

It's a fair point. IF that is supposed to be the same scar its an egregious mistake.

That said its 8 months out from the movie. Plenty of time to fix it in post production. I seriously doubt no one at Lucas Film has noticed this.

Dont go jumping off any ledges just yet.

I've never heard of Anakin Skywalker, who is he?

Healing? You must be talking about some mystical energy field controlling your destiny. I have been around the galaxy and I can tell you there is no all powerful force guiding my destiny.

mistake? Look at the battlefront 2 image. its the same, with the small scar just above the eye. its not a mistake, its a revision. it is probably based on prosthetic trial and error around what made the character look/feel right. I don't know why that would upset anyone? I mean, in TFA it was a flash of action on screen and only because someone freeze framed it and zoomed in do we even know what it looked like.

Peter Cushing was done in cgi in rogue one
Anakin skywalker has been 3 different actors (not counting the vader ones)
and yet a slight scar revision breaks the suspension of disbelief?
