They're showing the first ten minutes of the film in a press/fan event in Mexico right now

I'm not sure what to make of this "leak". The "leaker's" language is quite cluttered, so.... I'm confused.

EDIT: Just heard is a fake.

Slightly off-topic, but I can't see "baby girl" without thinking of that incredible scene between Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us that always makes me cry:

Based on what I've read here, I'm not surprised and expected the first scene to play out much (if not exactly) like that.

Agreed. I just read the "real" leak and it makes a lot of sense to start the film a bit further ahead in time, when the First Order attacks D'Qar (which certainly doesn't happen straight after TFA). After this space attack scene we cut back in time to Ahch-To, and Luke and Rey. Then we'll spend long enough time with Luke and Rey on Ahch-To until time catches up with the attack on D'Qar.

The two "leaks" contradict each other tho, although one admits to that there is a rumor of another showing near them.

    Second leak seems very real.
This is the best way to start Episode 8, all makes sense.

Alright, peeps - if you want my two cents on this situation, I think that *both* accounts of what the opening sequence is are untrue. The only things I think would actually hold water is that they wouldn't show the Luke/Rey conversation and there wouldn't be an opening crawl as part of this sequence, but I'll get into why later.

Firstly, if they were going to show the first ten minutes of the movie to hype people up, then why would they stick entirely with a conversation (even one with a great significance to the plot)? That would defeat the purpose of skipping the opening crawl altogether. Not everyone that will be there is a superfan - some people are shallow and just want to see explosions in space, and if they don't see that there, then they might not be interested in catching the film on the big screen. Plus, they're making a big deal about what Luke's first words in decades are - I don't think that they'd casually give it away a month ahead of the movie's release.

Secondly (and lastly, I suppose), there are too many inconsistencies with the described D'Qar attack given what we know about it. There's ample evidence to show that there are two major space battles in the movie between the two trailers - one above D'Qar, and one in the middle of nowhere. Kylo Ren is almost certainly not involved with the former, even if he is involved in the latter. Poe is explicitly shown flying his X-wing above D'Qar, so we know that he won't be in trouble here. And, perhaps most importantly, everything we've heard suggests that the Resistance Bombers are reinforcements that come in the nick of time, not something that the Resistance fleet has when the First Order initially attacks.

I personally am of the belief that The Last Jedi will open up with another space sequence, because that's something of a tradition for the franchise and it lends itself to beginning things off with an action-packed sequence right out the gate, or exposition followed by an action scene. And that's all I'll say. :D

That's a good point, @Pomojema. Plus, we can assume Rey headed to Ach-To relatively soon after the attack on Starkiller Base, and that Hux attacks D'Qar not long after. We can also assume that when Snoke said Kylo would continue his training, that wouldn't immediately involve him entering a large space battle.

I'm getting the feeling that both of these "synopses" are just fanmade ideas put loosely together by people who have simply seen the trailers and have a bit of common sense.

The second report/leak sounds pretty legit and tbh I'd be really pleased with that. Now someone leak the other 2 hours and I'll be happy :D

Second one sounds legit. I'm not against it, it could be really good actually if done right, but the heavy handed way they are setting up Finn and Poe as lovers sounds exactly what Disney would do in 2017 in our current cultural climate, so I buy it.
