    This is a very minor spoiler. I saw the book Ships of the Galaxy and they had TFA ships in the back. As we all know Poe will lead a black x-wing squadron and it appears there will be a black Tie squadron as well.

    Curious as to why the FO and the Resistance both have a black squadron. It's a little odd.

    The squadrons go by color designations, it's something they've been doing for a while. Darth Vader was the head of the Black Squadron in the OT and conversely his son Luke was head of the Red Squadron for the Rebel Alliance.
