SPECULATION Tone of the Third Trailer?

I'll take a shot at this one.
I'm thinking we'll get a more Imperial/First Order feel. I'm almost hoping nothing about Luke to keep him more mysterious. I'll be suprised if we hear Kylo’s voice, as I think the impact will be best saved for the first few scenes in December. I'll be both excited and heartbroken if we see Phasma unmasked, but I doubt we'll see that either. A brief glimpse of Snoke would likely shut the interwebz down, so we might have a shot at that. I have a feeling we'll see Leia. Definitely a Jedi lightsaber. I think 3po is a given. Boyega and Ridley using weapons?

 

I think a theme of embracing destiny is likely enough. Some shots of Rey looking out over a desert vista with Luke's theme, shots of someone's face glowing with the reflective light of a lightsaber, shots of people's faces confronting/contemplating something important, things like that. I think it's also likely to cover the deft tonal swings of the first movie (wistful, adventurous, mystical, dangerous, fun, etc).

I also think we'll get to hear some snippets of dialogue from the new cast -- curious to hear everybody's accent.

 

Dark........

 

Leia's voice this time, perhaps even lifted from the OT...

"You have a power I don't understand and could never have..."

The exact pan up as she receives the saber and we see Carrie's face.

" I know. Somehow, I've always known."

((Not quite that terrible hopefully, but if I had to guess at tone, this one is a little bit skewed to Leia's perspective in the film. The next dialog is actually her in the new film, but in different brief sequences)

"Oh, well, we understand, don't we, Chewie. You had "no choice."

Then there's a strong hint that Leia is on a lot of angst in this film and a moral dilemma confronts here.

"But these are my friends..."

It ends on that quote, kind of ominously, as if Leia is at a real moral cross road in this film. Then quick switch to Kylo and a brief shot to get us even more excited about Captain Phasma as a cool character. Spoiler images we've already seen may show up in brief snippets too.

((Mercifully, I don't get to write these things, but that's my general guess at tone, there will be other brief shots of other characters, but Leia gets a nice reveal and is the voice of the film like Luke's voice was the voice in the last one...))

 

with the 1st act the Jakku part completely spoiled,I Think the emphisasis will tease the inevitable space battle.

I think it'll be the two sides preparing battle (internal & external). Voice over something like "It's time to choose... To take a stand... To pick a side.,.The light or the dark"
During the voice over show

• Finn sitting in the brig thinking
• Kylo holding Vader's Helmet thinking
• Rey listening intently to Maz
• Gleesen & Phasma on star destroyer bridge planning
• Leia and crew around a table planning

Speeds Up- Quick cuts

• Rey fighting (bow staff)
• Phasma Shooting
• Kylo turning off lightsaber (implied just finished using it)
• Finn clipping Luke's lightsaber to his jacket
• Poe boarding his xwing in a busy Resistance Hanger (i.e New Hope)
• Storm Troopers running to their battle stations (snow planet or Star Destroyer)

Snoke says "don't get sentimental" shows massive space battle before it starts- quick cut to Gleesen as he yells FIRE! Cut to black

 

A bit of speaking by the characters this time, Snoke got his moment in the first trailer.

 

This is what first came to mind. Maybe even bleak?

 

Since this coming up trailer should actually be a trailer and not a teaser, I expect it to be more well-balanced than the teasers. What I mean by that is there probably won't be one impending theme leaning towards one side over the whole thing. I think we will see footage of the good guys, the bad guys, and everything in between. We will get excited, surprised, hopeful, we will see heroic acts, we will see villainous acts, we will see some light, and we will see some darkness. I guess you could say the tone we should get from the trailer is, well... Star Wars. We've been teased, now it's time for us to see the real good stuff!

All I know is I really want to hear Kylo speak. It would also be nice to hear the voices from the new "Big Three".

 

The first two teasers have been a bit dark. My guess is this time will be more light-hearted, fun and adventerous with some good or funny dialogue.

 

I know we will see snoke's face in this movie otherwise, why give Serkis all the mo-cap. If we get a look at Snoke now in a trailer, it leads me to suspect he is not the most powerful villain in the movie. I would figure they would want to leave Snoke a secret unless someone is more powerful than him.

 

I think more of a peek of the story and a bit more action. More shooting and kicking ass. More of the SFX should done, so a bit more visual wow.

 

Awakening will be the theme. Good and evil.

 

Do you guys think Kylo in mask will be dubbed? Vader and Maul were both dubbed. Give Kylo a more menacing voice while helmeted.

 

It's very possible. I wonder if we hear his voice (while he wears his mask) in the new trailer...

I think in the style of the Marx Brothers, the main cast is sitting naked in a office at Disney and they are eating grilled saussages.
It would be a shocking tone for a trailer and nobody would reckon that. (I'am not serious folks)
