...what? I was saying that im pretty sure the planet itself will be featured on the millenium falcon attraction that's replacing star tours that's in tomorrowland currently...I also do think they will bleed over because star tours is getting an overlay for the last jedi

You used a lot of acronyms (and I'm not convinced all of them intentionally).

I just was just having a little fun with how esoteric posts can seem.

English version: Star Tours will get an expansion based on The Last Jedi, unsurprisingly. The Millennium Falcon ride will most likely feature the planet. I have no idea what TL is supposed to be, though.

4chan post from one week ago was removed and detailed some pretty cool and VERY DESCRIPTIVE details of what we can possibly see in the first look at The Last Jedi in the first official teaser. The poster went on to say the music by the company Confidential, who did the music on the first Rogue One teaser, had completed the music track for the teaser and that the teaser was done and was expected to drop February 10 in an early release no one would expect to see coming. Since the post was removed it made many scratch their heads and ask why. If it was fake, the post should have stayed up and continued to garner more speculation like most threads, but alas, Disney may have issued a takedown notice and threatened to sue, so it would explain the posts disappearance. However, someone screenshot the original post and we still have it thanks to some fan over on Reddit on the very popular StarWarsLeaks sub-reddit.

SPOILER WARNING!!! DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK BELOW INCASE YOU WANT THE DETAILS LEAKED!

    You have been warned!!

If a trailer does drop tomorrow, keep your eyes and ears peeled for lots of reviewing content going through this weekend. It would be a wonderful way to enter this weekend by dropping it Friday afternoon as well. Stay tuned as we continue to learn more!

We actually talked about this earlier. It's a fake description and the trailer will not be hitting tomorrow.

The BTS reel is arriving first, and according to the people at MSW, it's going to hit before the trailer does at Celebration. We don't know when, but it might be attached to Beauty & The Beast if Disney follows the example Warner Brothers set with the ad campaign for Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them.

Jeremy Conrad seems to be insistent that we won't get any footage until after Rogue One is released on DVD...

...Or that Lucasfilm is using the same advertising model that they had with Rogue One in terms of releasing teasers and the trailer.

Also, the trailer's apparently going to be attached to POTC5 after it's shown at Celebration.

Meh, if that's anything to go by I'd say my own predictions started seeming a little more likely. Like Conrad though, I really don't know where the BTS reel fits in.

    My predictions were/are:
    • First trailer: April 13th, day 1 of Celebration during the panel for TLJ.
    • Second trailer: July, during the D23 Expo.
    • Third and final trailer: October/November, to coincide with the start of ticket sales.

After that begins the inevitable onslaught of TV spots and the boycotting of the internet.

If I had to come up with when the BTS reel may be shown (if it is before Celebration), then I'd assume it would be during a USA Today/Good Morning America interview with Rian Johnson, or a higher-up like Kathleen Kennedy, in the week leading up to Celebration (we'd probably also get the teaser for the trailer then too). If not, I can see it being featured in the panel at Celebration itself, during the closing ceremony of Celebration, at SDCC (where we got that great TFA one in 2015), or D23 (though I think we get an Infinity War trailer at SDCC, BTS reel at D23, and the reverse for VIII).

I think that if anything is shown at SDCC, it won't be major. Marvel is their main attraction there. D23 seems like a better fit for Star Wars.

Agreed, which is why I suggested that the BTS reel is shown during SDCC as opposed to some other events (my writing style wasn't very clear, so I've rearranged it to reflect this if it caused any confusion as to what I was talking about) :)

Too bad they want to put behind the scenes out front of the trailer if rumors are true. Like Mark Ellis said on Collider, that makes no logistical sense to do that until after we have seen some sort of trailer. It just doesn't.

    No problem, it's all good!

What's odd, though, is that supposedly, we're getting the BTS reel before Celebration, but after Rogue One is released on home video. The timing on this is gonna be pretty weird, as that gives them nine days to drop it.

I'm confused, I thought the report on this site said no footage would be seen before the BTS, and the BTS would be shown at SWC.

I don't think it makes much sense to have the first footage be in a BTS video (if it's anything like most videos like that...especially the two previous SW BTS). And if you release the BTS before SWC, that makes even less sense.

Unless....they make the BTS available via a login for people who bought RO on DVD (and as an "album only"-type bonus track on iTunes...but that seems pretty cynical and egotistical (words never used to describe the head of LFL...or me, to be fair) and something that wouldn't work anyway.

I'm seriously asking about the timing to which you refer because the story that was posted here, and has been quoted repeatedly on other sites, said first footage would be the BTS, and its going to be shown during SWC (or at least not before SWC).

    TIA

One possibility I've not seen put forth is that the trailer is cut (or cloose) and that the trailer is actually going to be part of the BTS, and will be the ending, and the SWC crowd will be shown the BTS video with a bit of a deep look and exclusive footage cut into it. That part will not live stream, but the trailer, a little like how the Han & Chewie TFA teaser bit sent everyone into a frenzy... everyone will think the BTS is over...then a 2:00 minute teaser trailer will be shown and everyone goes nuts.

The teaser would then be released soon after but the BTS vIdeo would be held until Memorial Day...or Star Wars day or the NBA finals or some other future time. The teaser part would get everyone's attention and yet they still give a "first and exclusive look" to attendees while still having a teaser to release to get the marketing rolling.

MSW apparently said that the BTS reel will arrive before Celebration. Jeremy Conrad, who works there, left a contradictory statement suggesting that the BTS reel will arrive at some point after Rogue One is released, which may or may not be before Celebration.

We, however, believe that both will be shown at the convention, as both are being prepared at around the same time. Sorry for the confusion.

I still think it would be a big mistake to release a BTS reel before an actual teaser, even if it's both at celebration.

Actually the did it already with the Skellig Michael thing and it didn't produce a huge backlash, I doubt anyone would not want to see the film just because of the BTS stuff before the trailer.

I agree, it's super odd: either someone's wrong, or they've just extremely narrowed down when it could be released.

If it is within those 9 days, then, I stand by what I posted above as a suggestion: we get the BTS reel during GMA/USA Today, likely during an interview with Kennedy or Johnson, and during the same bit we get the 10/15 second tease for the trailer (unless, of course, the BTS reel is supposed to be the tease? But imo BTS =/= tease).

Anyone suggest April 12 as a possibility outside of Celebration where they could do a GMA tease on Wednesday morning with the BTS and that 10-15 second tease to get more people to tune into the Verizon SWCO live stream on Thursday to see the trailer drop?

Of course it won't stop anyone from seeing the film. It just seems to me that a BTS clip has less initial impact than a teaser. Like a magician spending ten minutes telling me where he bought his deck of cards, what he had for lunch earlier, and how he got dressed before the show. I just want to be dazzled by the trick.

You can get a ton of information out of a BTS reel those celebration reels for TFA were a gold mine compared to the teaser. Every time single time with a new movie people complain about to slow marketing when they actually nailed it in the end. You want to people get their highest peak of excitement when the movie hits not a half year before.

    Thanks for spelling it out.

One of the major benefits of SWC will be a shift from "when are we going to see something?" To "I wonder what that could be?"

A few drone shots, a title, and a few instagram posts. We "know" almost zilch about this film and it'll be nice to have some red meat to dig into rather than waiting for the server to bring the menus.
