    I thought the misdirection in the trailers was absolutely brilliant on Lucasfilm's part. In one of the latest teasers you see Boyega's character look almost terrified - in the final film he's the one who is attacking with a vengeance.

    100% positive. I think JJ was demonstrating what Yoda referenced in Empire regarding the "difficulty" of force visions. Because the future is "always in motion", the acual shot of Ren's encounter with Rey looks a little different than how Ray forsaw it.


    And I think, as a double entendre, JJ was playing the same game with us. What I mean is, he played the initial teaser as a vision of the future:

    As I was watching the film, we'd inevitably come to those shots that were featured in trailers. Some, but not all! Such as:

    1) Maz handing Luke's lightsaber to Leia. Didn't happen anything remotely like that!

    2) Did Rey ever say "I'm no one" in the film?

    3) Kylo Ren, wearing hood, igniting lightsaber in snowy fortress from first teaser.

    4) (not a trailer moment, but I'll include it here) Was Constable Zuvio in any scene, even in the background? I don't remember seeing him for even a frame.

    I know I'm missing some.

    on number 4 do not remember seeing him but going a few more times so will look out for him in the background he is probably in some of the Rey scenes at the trading outpost

    Would Zuvio been the one the KOR killed in Rey's flashback. The scene happened so quickly and it looked like his helmet. Without seeing it again I would not know. If it was then Jakku was where the scene took place. From that you can see how Rey was left there and Lor San Tekka was there.

    Well, I've just re-watched and I can guarantee that the teaser scene where Kylo ignites the saber is NOT in Rey's forceback.

    I thought that it looked like him too, but from what we know of Zuvio it wouldn't make any sense for that to be him.
