SPECULATION What Characters Do you Hope to See?

Han & Luke:

They could do a flashback with Luke and Han arguing what to do with Kylo early in his teens. There could be a tense confrontation between the two as Luke has different ideas for Kylo. There could even be some big reveal in this flashback about Kylo.

Luke part 2:

Everyone wants to see bad ass Luke but being he is now dead there could be a way to bring him back in an earlier flashback where maybe he has a confrontation with Snoke in the past where we might see bad ass luke.

Lando:

Surely a shoe in for a role. I think he will come in and save the day early on and have a hidden base he has been working on over over years.

 

Ahsoka would work better in a stand alone movie, I think, rather than trying to integrate her into the trilogy somehow. There could be some mileage in showing the plight of a Force user on the run from the Empire during the Dark Times. The story could mention Anakin in passing so a nod to the fans and something intriguing for casual viewers. Perhaps she encounters Obi-Wan, or reaches out to him when she gets into trouble. Get Dave Filoni to write / co-write it, job done. So, the Obi-Wan (+ Ashoka) movie gets called Renegades: A Star Wars Story.

As a minimum for Ep9 I would hope to see Luke back as a Force Ghost; I would love to see Luke showing the power of the Force by actually taking on physical form, perhaps to deliver his final lesson to Rey. That could be a non-contentious way around him dying in TLJ but giving JJ options for how to use him to drive the story of Ep9 forward. It also wouldn't invalidate TLJ for those who loved it (and perhaps more importantly in one sense, mean that Disney saves face).

A cameo from Lando would be nice; I'd like to see Kaydel Connix taking a bigger role, and a return for Snap and the rest of Poe's squadron.

 

I would like to see force ghost Anakin and Luke and Obi-wan. Lando would be cool too. But I would really like Force Ghost Anakin and Force Ghost Luke to appear to close out the Skywalker saga. I have a feeling that J.J. will only focus on the new characters and the legacy characters will only be talked about and not seen. I'm kind of sad that the Skywalker familial legacy will end in tragedy since Kylo Ren is the villain. It just feels like Luke's arc and Anakin/Darth Vader's arc were done in vain in this saga. I'm fine with the democratization of the force, but to have the Skywalker lineage be the villain for this overall story is kind of a downer. I guess that is why I want Kylo Ren/Ben Solo to be redeemed, even though he appears to be unredeemable.

 

These are all good ideas. I think practically anybody would like to see Luke, Lando, and/or more Kaydel Connix.

Greg Grunberg frequently has cameos in JJ Abrams' works, which is how we got Snap in the first place; with JJ on board for IX, I suspect Snap will likely return.

 

They could always have an 80-ish Mon Mothma make a cameo as they are gathering the new rebels together. Maybe have her make an inspiring speech before turning over the mike to Poe.

After seeing Solo, I'd like Enfys Nest to return.
