What Is Thy Bidding My Master? *Darth Vader Fanclub* (All Are Welcome)

Forget about the special editions and revisions to the OT.

Forget about the PT.

After the theatrical release(s) of the OT - Did you believe Vader already knew he had a son?

Prior to the release of the PT, and prior to the revisions to ROTJ and ESB, it was clear to me that Vader always knew he had a long, lost son.

In fact, I believe that's one of the reasons GL changed the dialog between Vader & The Emperor in ESB.

Has this already been discussed? Or am I the only one who felt this way?

DISCLAIMER - You had to have seen the original releases of ESB and ROTJ in the theater. Otherwise, you have never known the OT in it's purest form.

 

While I haven't seen the originals in the theater, I have seen the originals on VHS tapes that my mom owns, and I'm pretty sure that everyone was supposed to think that. I'm pretty sure Vader was always supposed to be seen as knowing he had a son somewhere.

 

Well good. I'm glad I'm not alone. I had a HUGE problem with the way Anakin's backstory was handled in the PT. This was one of the biggest for me.
