SPECULATION What might be the Flashbacks?

Me to.

 

Whatever the flashback is it better be very important. I personally think it will be a small scene about Luke.

 

I hope there will be none flashback scene in TFA, that's what the crawl is for.
The closest thing we got was the nightmare scene from Ep.III and it was out of place.
For me it doesn't belong to Star Wars, I guess tastes are different and the times are changing.
If they include a flashback scene, o.k. I can live with it.
I just wanted to share my opinion.

Well... what if there are no flashbacks...but...... here's an hypothesis...

Again... I base this on my debunking info thread, what we know from reliable info so far vs the junk we were entertained with from the start:

After ROTJ... C3P0 ends up with Leia.... R2D2 with Luke.

Luke leaves R2 behind after a tragic event.

R2 ends up with "Rose".

Our heroes, Finn, Rey, Poe?, Han, Chewie... maybe even C3P0 at this point end up on Rose's planet.

Rose brings the heroes in a remote room to "show" them what happened to Master Luke,... she tells them, what they are about to see is devastating and hard, they all take hands... R2 comes out.

R2 has everything recorded because he witnessed what happened... and he plays the recording.

He reveals the truth and the reason why Luke has left.

So, it's no flashback, but what's inside the little droid's memory.

My two cents... this scene would work on so many levels... Explaining R2's whereabouts... a reunion between R2 and C3P0... exposition to Luke's reasons for exile.

 

I still hope they do all flashbacks via hologram/Holocrons.

 

Assuming the MSW outline of this movie is accurate, there is a scene where Kylo Ren captures and interrogates Rey shortly after Maz, Rey, Finn, Han, Chewie etc have the flashback scene. I was thinking - what if part of the flashback is actually a flash-forward. What if the part where Kyle approaches Rey is a vision of the future instead of Kylo and Rey being part of the Jedi Academy or whatever it is when the Seven face off against the Clan. One of the reasons I mention this is because the battle between the Seven and the Clan happens AFTER the vision of the lightsaber being recovered on Jakku. Here is an excerpt from the MSW report:


· Interior Day Roses’s Pub – There is a secret underground chamber and Rose begins her tale to Han, Rey, and Finn. They hold hands.

· Flashback: Interior Night at Academy – Dead bodies are on the ground. Luke turns up.

· Flashback: Exterior Dusk at the Academy – It is noted it is peaceful now. Artoo-Detoo is saddened as his master departs.

· Flashback: Exterior Day at the Savannah – A hand that takes the sword at the start of the film is revealed to be Naka’s hand.

· Flashback: Exterior on the Savannah – A peasant’s hovel where the peasant drops the sword, starts a fire, panics and then returns.

· Flashback: Exterior Desert – Local trader is seen leaving. (I believe it then cuts to Finn and Rey’s faces as the story unfolds).

· Flashback: Exterior Day Desert – Local trader makes a sale to a wealthy man.

· Flashback: Exterior Night Battlefield – Fierce battle! Sword is being use by the CLAN against THE SEVEN.

· Flashback: Exterior Night: the last man is down and Kylo Renn approaches Rey!

· Flashback: THE SEVEN are looting and we see Rose in the foreground taking “the object.”

· Interior Day Roses’s Pub: In the underground chamber, Rose presents the saber and Rey is revolted by it while Finn is attracted to it.

 

Oh, come on...would you rather a brief flashback or several lens flares?

In all seriousness I think the flashback rumors have been misinterpreted. It's probably going to be more of a force vision that explains Luke's absence.

It's not a horrible thing if done right.

 

Force Vision, flashback, I'm not too annoyed by the idea of it. I think it could add something new, different to SW. Hopefully, it's done well and serves the story.

 

Yeah I agree with that. Something brief but informational to move the story forward hopefully

 

There are no more darkside Skywalkers, there is peace.
There is no lightsaber falling from space , there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is Plagueis.
There are no flashbacks, there is the Force.

 

Yep I want to see that.

 

Is this a Vulcan Inquisitor, Rey on a bad hair day, or Supreme Leader Snoke Em if You Got'em.??? Argh, I cant tell. JJ turn out lights dammit, I cant see the movie.

 

A force vision is definitely the way to go if this is going to happen. Anakin had a flash forward force vision in ROTS so there is some precedent for it. I have a feeling we will get a Lupita Nyongo VO as well. There is only so much you can say in an opening crawl, especially since 30 years have gone by....

 

Well I'm convinced Kylo Ren and Kira Rey are unknowingly to each other bro and sis !

So I'd guess the flashback will show the two of them being separated at a very young age in a tragic and emotional manner . Rey will end up on Jakku while Kylo will end up the adopted son / apprentice of Snoak .

The fall out of this flasback will be the catalyst for the end of Han and Leias marriage and the reason Luke goes into exile

 

This part to me seems extremely important:

Did Luke slaughter those people, or were the dead bodies there before he arrived? If they were there before he arrived, then why is it peaceful now?

I think he slaughters whomever was there and finds Rey as a baby like the Reddit poster claimed. (If nothing else, Luke's white and black costume in the teaser represents this inner conflict.) Rey would later become adopted by Han and Leia (or they become Rey's guardians, or something to that effect). Otherwise, what would be the point of showing Rey this flashback? I mean, really, "Hey Rey, lemme show you some unnecessary exposition, history and background about the previous owners of this lightsaber?"

 

I think it will be an R2 hologram to be shown at Mazs' joint but it will turn into the actual movie, meaning the hologram will be as we see the film and not as a hologram-the funeral pyre with Luke and R2 in trailer
