We've seen some of the ships that are going to be in Ep VII in the teaser already - and the X-Wing redesign looked pretty darn good to me/less sure about the new cabin/pilot-capsule for the TIE fighter - but what ones do you think have the most impressive design? Which ones should be used as the standard to which designers on the new trilogy should aspire?

Here are some ideas of mine, but what do you guys think?

    http://whatculture.com/film/10-awesome-spaceships-star-wars.php

For me, I'd steer clear of that whole big prow thing that some ships had in (I think) the Dark Horse comics - for me, the stern should be bigger than the front. And why aren't there more Corellian freighters in spaceport scenes?

    Thanks.

Naturally the Falcon. Which of course means that Serenity is on my list. Its the spiritual successor. The Ghost from Rebels is a great design. I also really liked Grievous' fighter from ROTS it looks like an old 50's car.

This thread reminds me of my younger years, which were spent drooling over this book. This is better than the newer one overall... wish the newer one followed the same style of large diagram/small artist rendition.

I like the new X-Wings, but like the TIE Fighters of the OT, I'd like to see some additional
different versions of the X-Wing in the upcoming films and spin-offs.

This Up-Armored X-Wing by the artist Joshua Viers is a really cool design-

Although this thread is about ships, Viers concept art for a new type of TIE Pilot is just too wickedly cool to leave out-

He's actually got some other pretty good concept arts as well. I'm really digging that TIE pilot, and you got me wondering what direction they went for TFA on that.

Yeah, his art, both Star Wars, as well as his non-SW work, is stunning.

This new streamlined stealthy looking version of the Imperial Shuttle is my personal favorite-

I was checking his website (http://www.conceptbyjosh.com) and I didn't see anything that specified what it was for.

He mentions working at ILM, but doesn't mention Star Wars in his "about". Perhaps it was simply for fun and to display his talents.

I know that he also designed some items for Hasbro as well. As far as I know, these Star Wars pieces are what you say they are-his personal
for-fun work that he includes in his professional portfolio.

I would encourage everyone to check out his website. The concept piece of the Sith-like figure force-lifting a derelict AT-AT on what looks
to be Tatooine, is frakking beautiful.

The Millenium Falcon is my favorite Star Wars ship, and probably my favorite in all of fiction.

For notable mentions, I've always been fond of the imperial shuttles for the OT. As well as X wings and TIE interceptors.
