I have a feeling Maul will be killed by either Vader, Obi-Wan or his own greed and ambition.

Yes, he should have died so the entire original trilogy becomes non-canon. :p Vader can't and won't die.

Have you seen the IGN interview with Dave? They initially planned for the season 2 finale to be a duel between Vader and Maul. The latter was supposed to die. Then they changed it because it took too much spotlight away from Ahsoka versus Vader showdown.

I am pretty sure we'll get to see that fight, either at the end of Season 3 or 4.

Personally, I think it would be a more fitting end for Maul to die at the hands of his own greed and ambition. He finally obtains the power he's been seeking his whole life, and it consumes him. A fitting end, considering he never amounted to much.

That might still happen, I mean his greed and ambition will probably fuel his thirst for power which will cause Palpatine to consider him a threat yet again and dispatch Vader to kill him once and for all.

The life support system in his suit of armor is around the mouth area and Ahsoka sliced his vision region so at best she could have rendered him half-blind.

Have you ever played Force Unleashed? I am aware that game is not canon but they tried to stay true to it to some extent. Vader can walk around in that game, without the upper part of his mask.

Is it silly of me to want Maul to be sent off somewhere on some evil quest and written out of Rebels?

He should meet his fate in an Obi-Wan standalone film.

So, post S3 trailer and sneak peeks we know Maul is involved with a Nightsister/Dathomiry magik scene and is chilling with droids on some kind of Ringworld like space-station.

Based on the footage seen in the trailer, my guess is that he will try to bring Mother Talzin back to life and she will somehow manage to possess Kanan's body. Quite intriguing to say the least. Talzin is a powerful force wielder that certain someone could consider as a threat. :p
