    A mentor figure always dies in the first part of the trilogy: Qui-gon, Obi-Wan, Han Solo.
    Which character do you feel will both survive the Sequel Trilogy and would act best a mentor that gets killed in a theoretical Episode X?

    I left it as an option, for mentoring the next generation of heroes not villains.

    I think if Ben Solo is redeemed, he would be the mentor to kill off. If Luke is in the next trilogy (that is, if Mark Hamill wants to be in it or isn't "one with the Force" by then), he could be the mentor to die as well. But Luke will probably either die in this trilogy, or die sometime between this trilogy and the next.

    yes! i think Luke should survive the ST and be the mentor who dies in X. that would make total sense as he would then pass on the baton to the actual new generation (there's no time for that to happen in the ST).

    but since he wasn't an option, i voted for redeemed Ben ~ it would ensure that his life post ST had real meaning. it would be sad, but it would make the most sense.

    why would anybody pick Poe??? hahaha

    One of my thoughts on how IX could leave things goes as follows

    First Order is almost completely destroyed but as with the empire there will be a power grab.

    Do to her efforts with the resistance Leia will be elected Chancellor.
    Luke will have died saving Rey and Ben. Ben will have been redeemed.
    Finn will go on a journey to find his family.

    Where things will be at the start of episode X - Roughly 16 years after IX
    Leia will be retiring and a new chancellor will be elected during the course of the trilogy (Leia could also be assassinated which could set the story in motion.)
    Lei will have appointed Poe Dameron as Admiral of the Republic Army. Finn will have been unsuccessful in finding his parents, and have returned and become a Jedi Master on Rey's Council. Rey will be the Grandmaster and Ben will be her second in command with a few other Jedi. Ben will begin training a new Jedi (Rey's Son or Daughter) and get killed by a dark side user that reveals him or herself during the movie.....

    That's a rough out line with minimal detail of course but that's what I think.
