    Posters have very compelling arguments for why each character may survive the movie. Somebody is inevitably going to die, so who's it gonna be?

    There is a good possibility all of the 3 legends are dead by the end of TFA. That is if the Luke as a force ghost rumor turns out to be true.

    In all seriousness, it would be phenomenally depressing if the next three movies felt there was some need to literally kill off every hero from the original trilogy, and it would make much less of an emotional impact. There are ways of phasing out those characters without it becoming a hit list and removing all of the good vibes that the last trilogy ended with. In the real world, some soldiers do, in fact, make it out alive, and get to enjoy a retirement and some prosperity. Killing everyone off is a lazy shortcut to finding out other ways of ending a character's story. If each movie ends with an old person dying it will have all the resonance of coming out with Old Yeller 2 and 3 and having to put down a new dog each time.

    personally, i'm betting Finn dies. if you don't like spoilers, don't read on.

    in the OT we have Obi-Wan that bites the dust in the first movie. sure, he's around in every other film, but he does die in ANH!

    in the PT Darth Maul "dies" in the first movie, making people sad that such a good villain came to so little in the long run. then he grew spider legs, a development few casual fans are even vaguely aware of.

    in the ST, i think that Finn's story will introduce us to the galaxy after so many years. we'll see where the First Order is coming from and why, allowing us understanding of both sides of the conflict. it also explains who Rey is crying over in the trailer: Finn dies during his fight with Kylo Ren. it also explains why (according to MSW's reports) only Rey is present during the meeting with Luke.

    Finn's story starts and ends with TFA.

    I really hope it isnt,
    Poe, BB-8, Kylo Ren. To me they look like the characters with the most interesting backgrounds but who knows. I think Hux will die on Starkiller Base though.

    I think if the MSW synopsis of the Array super weapon are true then maybe Nien Nunb--so Jessica Paava can fill his roll.

    Very doubtful that Finn will die. Injured and perhaps camped out in a medical facility could explain why he may not be present in the ending scenes. He's one of the new leading three. It wouldn't make sense to "maul" him before his story has even reached the latter end of it's arc.
