I've been a little suprised by the lack of activity here leading up to the BOBF Episode 1 premeir on Disney+. But I believe this has a lot to do with Jon Favreau's insistence that the series not be 'spoiled' by preview clips from throughout the series. As everybody here as no doubt heard, everything from the trailer and TV spots is from the first half of the first episode.

To me, it speaks to Favreau's clout -- but, more importantly, to his, Filoni's, and Rodriquez's confidence they've got a real winner to unveil over the next seven weeks. They realize they don't need to over-hype it. The buzz will build naturally through each episode. As we witnessed last year with The Mandolorian Season 2, that's the best kind of build-up. Just imagine what a Mando Season 2 trailer would have looked like if Disney+ had wanted to build massive hype for the start of the second season without any concern for spoilers.

I feel like I'm standing in line for a new 'mystery' DisneyWorld ride that hasn't been leaked to the world. I may be wrong, but the Favreau-Filoni train really picked up speed midway through last season's Mando -- and there's no reason to believe it'll stop anytime soon.

It's been a long wait and I'm excited to get on board in a couple of days! Who else here is standing in line beside me?

totally agree and I wish all would be treated the same…I.e. very little trailers and teasers.

I will absolutely be in line for the BOBF ride ( although I’m working Friday so won’t get to watch the episode until Friday Evening U.K. time :()
However once I have watched it I will be straight onto the CANTINA to join in the hopefully numerous discussions about the episode.

Fortunately, @Addi Ras, it debuts on Wednesday the 29th, not Friday! You probably still have to work, but it's two days closer to the fun than Friday. ;)

I'm not on the ride since I'm not a fan of Boba Fett in general. I'm watching because 1. It's Star Wars content in a year where we've had a lot of books but very little screen content (only this and The Bad Batch), 2. I like Ming-Na Wen, 3. it'll tide me over until 2022's Star Wars content, which I'm a little more excited about, and 4. the novelty of D+ shows and the discussion around them.

All of that said, I DO think this show will surprise me, as all of the Star Wars D+ shows have done. With the exception of TCW's final season, I've come into all of the Star Wars D+ shows with lower expectations, either due to skepticism, burnout, or simply not liking the main character(s). And all of them have gone above and beyond my expectations.

So yes, I expect this show to be good, if not great, and I do expect some surprises within the first few episodes and certainly by the finale, but I'm not bouncing off the walls with joy as this isn't my ideal show nor is it my ideal setting.

If I had to wager a guess, it's probably due to the Marvel Wednesday - Star Wars Friday thing earlier this year with Loki and TBB. Not to mention that before this year, new episodes of Mando always arrived on Fridays.

I am a big OT fan but I wasn't a ravid, frothing-at-the-mouth, kind-of-Boba Fett fan prior to The Mandolorian. But Favreau and Filoni have completely revitalized Star Wars with their two seasons of Din and Grogu. I loved Rodriguez's take on Boba in Mando and was intrigued to learn he became one of the showrunners for BOBF. That, plus Ming-Na Wen co-starring got me hyped about the series.

After the disappointing ST films, I've learned to temper my expectations going into a new series. But that said, I have a tremendous amount of faith in the product that Favreau and Filoni produce. If you had told me after watching TROS that I'd get super-pumped about Star Wars ever again -- let alone after two seasons of a new SW TV show called The Mandolorian -- I'd have told you you're crazy.

This is how I'm feeling about it. Just another show about a bounty Hunter.

For me second season of Mando was a bore, maybe one or two episodes I did like that's it but there was nothing that made me go wow, the storylines were just meh and something I have seen done before and better.

I still don't get why we need this show. Sure, Temuera Morission is a neat guy and I'm happy for him to get so much love (cinematic and fan wise), but TOBF is probably the most unneeded SW live action content ever. This and the Solo movie. I've never asked for it.

Will I watch it? Yeah, it's SW after all. But if the show is similar to Mando season 2- filler episodes after filler episodes with too many cameos, then I won't finish this series.

So, I'm not hyped for this show. I'm much more excited for Andor, Obi-Wan and the Acolyte. But I'm open-minded for it. Maybe it will surprise me after all.

Well I'm not watching it at 3am, well it is my day off, so if I happen to be awake.
I don't understand this mentality that we as fans need to ask for a movie or show to be made to have our collective blessing. Just make cool stuff that's all i want. Like Solo, it was basically a send off for the character, probably never to be seen again. This will probably be the last time we see fett (hopefully). It's cool that he's living up to the legend that surrounds him. Up until recently he was arguably the most overrated character in movie history. Now he has a chance to live up to the mythology that surrounds him.

Because I think, mainly WE did not need that, but LucasFilm perhaps(?) saw an opportunity to make the Jango legacy and the whole Clones story come to a definitive end.

Be careful, not to choke on your aspirations, Director NinjaRen.

    Just as Mando did.

For me mando was drawn out at times. TBOBF will be one and done season. I don't expect it to be Shakespeare, just basically the Mandalorian but shorter.

Boba Fett was the only villain in the OT to actually challenge the heroes directly, besides Darth Vader and Palpatine. He was never overrated, and he was a lot more than a fancy costume. Tarkin was merely a plot device and Jabba only challenge the heroes because of Boba Fett. TBoBF should be a great addition to SW as it expands upon a seriously underrated character in live action.

@Angelman Tarkin was the main villain of ANH.

Yes, a bore. I expected the second season to be more than stand alone episodes with paper thin storylines with cameo after cameo, and slapstick with baby Yoda. Especially after the great finale of the first season, I hoped that the second would pick up there, but instead the second season was way different.

Exactly! Tarkin was the main villain in ANH. Here are some reasons for that:
    - he made all the big decisions
    - Tarkin outranked Vader
    - Tarkin had the villain speech
    - Tarkin was played by the bigger and more famous actor- Peter Cushing

I have to agree with @RockyRoadHux, Season 2 was boring. Mainly because it wasn't even about Mando anymore. I couldn't care less about cameos like Bo Katan, Ahsoka or CGI Luke.

The first season was unique. The show stood on its own. It was a good space western. I hope the same goes for TBOBF.

Going back to the Holiday Special of 1978, Boba Fett was portrayed as Vader's right-hand man. His appearance sparked the creation of Mandalore and Mandalorians in the Star Wars universe, a culture so skilled in the art of war that they could and did fight against the Jedi and Sith in wars. His "brothers" almost ended the Jedi. People have learned to speak Mando'a. He is iconic. I, for one, cannot wait to see more of his story, even if it might be the end of him.

Absolutely, and he's also a passive plot device, like Palpy in TESB. He speaks exposition and argues with Vader. I'll give you that he challenges Leia in that one scene.

Boba Fett, by contrast, is a much more active protagonist that challenges the heroes and add stakes to all of Star Wars.
