Anakin killed Asajj during the battle of Boz Pity but she survived after putting herself in a sith trance, her body was loaded aboard the medic runner Bright Flight were she awoke & ordered the vessel to a unknown destination.[/QUOTE]

That's actually from old EU comics, which were great, but are no longer canon, canonically speaking, Ventress is dead.

Yes I think she gave herself for Quinlan. But back on the topic of Ahsoka, according to Filoni there were always two sides, George Lucas was on the Ahsoka dies and Filoni on the Ahsoka lives, now that Lucas is in fact out of the picture she might survive, but if she does it must be in a way that her connection to the force is severed, so not to mess up the continuity. Personally I would like Ahsoka to live, just hide away somewhere during the war and experience happiness, because let's face it, she hasn't had an easy life.

Palpatine will order Vador to kill her and it will bring sad sad memories.

Vador will hate that and it will bring him more on the dark side.

But it will bring in him a strong hate towards Palpatine.

I think she will die at the hands of Vader. I think that it will almost be like a purge of one of the remaining parts of Anakin.

Or maybe it will be the first time we'll see that there's still something good in Vader.

It will be the same scene we had in Return of the Jedi. Vader will bring Ahsoka to the Emperor, she will refuse to join him and Vader will let him kill her but he won't be pleased and turn himself darker into the dark.

I'm with the "killed by Vader" hypothesis. It just seems appropriate. I deepens Vader's descent into the Dark Side.

I think Vader will Kill Ahsoka, maybe defending Kanan and Ezra. But like Boba is boss said it should happen next season.

I'm usually on board with the "Ahsoka has to die" train, but today, I'm questioning it. Does she really need to die? Would that complete her journey? When Obi-Wan fought (and died) against Vader, it was a full on Jedi Master vs Sith Lord battle (albeit a very subtle and slow one - not bad! Just not fast). Ahsoka has taken her own path, but does that mean her journey to mastery (whatever that means for her) is complete?

If she dies trying to redeem Vader, doesn't that have the potential to undercut her whole journey? Vader killing her doesn't prove how heartless and callous he is; he's done that enough on his own. And why does she have to die against Vader? Sure, it wraps up their story "nicely," but there are probably other ways to do that as well.

Most fans thought she had to die in TCW either before or during Order 66, and the showrunners found a way around it. I'm not saying she doesn't fight Vader, I'm just saying she might not have to die against him.

Then again, this is just how I feel today. Tomorrow is a different story ;)

Edit: Here's an interesting discourse on whether or not she needs to die.

I do I think she ABSOLUTELY needs to die, no. Do I think she SHOULD die, yes. We already know that Vader is pretty heartless at this point in time, however his interactions with Ahsoka will provide a great way to show that part of Anakin is still alive inside the suit. This can be played up for some truly great drama during the season(s), making Vader's eventual killing of Ahsoka all the more heart wrenching, severing a huge piece of what made him Anakin. Additionally, this makes his redemption at the hands of Luke that much more powerful in RotJ.

I certainly think that they could take things in a different direction and not kill Ahsoka, however they would need to provide an excellent reason that she has been taken off of the board by the time of ANH. They definitely could find a way to write a story where Ahsoka is technically still alive, however I feel it would be done in the name of fan service rather than in the name of truly great storytelling.

I agree w this business. It will mirror the redemption of Vader, but it will wear Spock's goatee! That's the best thing for the story. I agree w those who say that it will be done mercilessly because of that, and I really wish there was a way for her to live. God she's such an incredible, bad*ss character.

But couldn't we say killing Ahsoka would also be done in the name of fan service? Because that's what most fans want and/or expect. Yes, it could be dramatic and heart wrenching, but I have enough faith in Filoni and his crew to make it that way without killing her off (or at least by Vader's hand - it'd be pretty tragic if Vader spared her and then Sidious killed her right afterwards). Heck, proving they DON'T need to kill her off could be an even greater feat and victory than just doing so.

In the article from MSW, one of the debaters points out that an older Ahsoka might not have to do with anything involving the order, so if she's alive by ANH, maybe she might want to meet Luke, but since he's already on his path to become a Jedi chooses to stay away from that.

If she's still alive, then the only reason could be that she's gone dark. Right? Vader DID turn her. Used her past against her. She may be one of these far flung ones that have been discussed in other posts. If there's a through line w her, it's the tragedy of her fall as well. It also echoes that of Vader, and could live on into the current series.

I also still think she dies before ANH, btw, but that's a fun counter-narrative.

I read the article on MSW and I thought the argument for killing Ahsoka was far stronger than the one for keeping her alive. As to your first statement, no, I don't believe that would be fan service to kill a character if that is where the story is naturally headed. Everything we know about Ahsoka says that she would continue to fight against evil, I don't see her leaving the Rebellion behind as was stated on MSW. It simply doesn't make sense that someone as powerful as Ahsoka wouldn't have a presence in the OT either. Whether she is technically a Jedi or not is completely irrelevant in the terms of her surviving into the OT IMO. Ahsoka would not stand by and allow evil to flourish, she would be compelled to fight back against it, the Rebellion is the best way for her to do that, Jedi or not. Additionally, there is no way that she wouldn't want to meet Luke Skywalker, Jedi or not.

I believe it is possible to write around these things, but I believe doing so would only weaken Ahsoka and the overall story if they were to do so. We have to remember, these are the dark times, Episode IV is called A New Hope for a reason.

Additionally, your mention of Sidious killing Ahsoka instead of Vader seems totally plausible as well. I don't think that Vader necessarily has to kill Ahsoka himself, but I believe he will definitely have a major part to play in her likely demise.

Interesting take, even more heart wrenching than if she dies, but I agree with you, I think her death is far more likely.

I find it kind of funny, fitting, and a tad ironic that I actually liked the other side more hahaha!

Probably right, and on the flip side (yes, I'm switching sides for a certain point in the middle of a discussion - sue me ;)) maybe she did meet with him after ANH (i.e. during the comics) or after ROTJ.

She already left the rebellion to solve the mystery of Vader - who's to say that another sort of mystery didn't call her away again? Maybe she's taken out of active duty but still goes around for the Rebellion recruiting - we know she recruited Wedge, who's to say she didn't recruit more? Or maybe she'd be busy taking out the Inquisitors. That'd actually explain where they went between ROTS and ANH and allow Ahsoka to exit the show alive, and with a purpose. And it can't be the crew of the Ghost, or at least I doubt it would be. The Emperor would wise up to their tactics and the Filoni and crew wouldn't keep spawning the same type of villain over and over again for the Ghost crew.

As for not having a presence, both Obi-Wan and Yoda were willing to sit on the sidelines until they deemed that the correct time had come and/or their hand was forced (no pun intended). Taking that into context, Ahsoka sitting on the sidelines to let the heat die down doesn't seem like that big a stretch.

Or, maybe she died on Alderaan...

Edit: I apologize about delving too much into the realm of speculation. It's usually where I like to be and have a tendency to veer towards that path.

All your points are interesting, but I find all of them less compelling than Ahsoka making the ultimate sacrifice. As for comparing her to Yoda and Obi-Wan, a big difference is that they are Jedi and she is not, she was always shown as more of a person of action, no doubt greatly influenced by Anakin, I don't think she would handle things in the same way at all.

That being said, the idea of her taking out the Inquisitors is interesting, especially if it took her beyond the edges of known space. If she isn't even in the known galaxy that would definitely explain her absence from the OT.

Ahsoka is the symbol of Vader's former self. He would do anything to destroy every link to his past, and on the flip side Ahsoka would do everything in her power to save Anakin from the darkside, even if it meant risking her own life to save him. I can picture a mirrored situation to the Bespin "Come with me, and together we can rule the Empire as father and son" scene where Ahsoka does the reverse to Vader, saying something like: "Anakin come away with me and forget the darkside! I can help you! There is still good in you I can feel it!!" which would probably make Vader double take for a second, then he'd get very angry and try to destroy her.

Ahsoka has to die for several reasons:
    1) She is the only link to Vader's true identity besides Obi-wan and Yoda.
    2) if she is still around during ANH, even unattached from the force, it raises too many questions about Vader's motivation and Ahsoka's *lack* of motivation to be involved in some way
    3) She absolutely, in no way, can ever meet Luke Skywalker. The reason for this is that there is no reason for it, it'd be way too risky, it would piss off Obi-wan, and it'd diminish Luke's first exposure to the force: Obi-wan.
    4) She has no reason to be alive during the OT, and she would be way too important to not be involved somehow and not be shown in the movies. It also diminishes Luke's character of being the last of the Jedi. Even if she turned her back on the Jedi Order I still believe that once you become a jedi you'll always be a jedi. Except Kanan, he's purely a Rogue.
