Ezra meets the Emperor (or Inquisitor or Vader I suppose). Emperor says, "have you ever heard the tragedy of Darth Plaguies the wise?"

    *Tells Ezra the story

Ezra is going to stay on the path of becoming a Jedi.

So far he has used the dark side once, but in the situation he had no other choice.

But what if he's presented with more situations like that? There has been some speculation that his parents may come into play (possibly alive). I thought that Rhodian (can't remember his name) said something about knowing about Ezra's parents, but hadn't told him yet.... unless I missed or forgot that part.

I would like to think that a Jedi always has a choice. Even when faced with certain death if he did not join Vader, Luke choose to cast himself into a seemingly bottomless pit rather than turn to the dark side in ESB.

I think he kind of replaces the whole "plague of jedi" thing put forth in the PT.
Returning the feel of Pupil and Master back to the vision of the Jedi as given forth in the OT.

In my opinion Esra is actually a re-envisioning of Anakin as stated in this clip. Staying truer to the implicationsthan the PT did, and bridging "implication" and "Lucas' version".

    Bridging Mythos and Canon (Kanin)

"Your father would have wanted you to have this, when you are old enough"
"(your unkle) feared you would follow obiwan on some ideallistic crusade like your father did" (seebo?)
"your father was killed by darth vader who was a pupil of mine before he turned to evil" (his father is probably actually killed by Vader)

The missing father/authority figure to Ezra, is the Jedi order (who are now missing, and why he was left abandoned) and the Jedi order is who wanted him to have his saber (yoda leads him to the crystal as a right of passage "when you are old enough" "I am here because you are here" playing off the old saying "when the student is ready the master appears")
The ideallistic crusade here is the Rebels
The dark times are created by Vader and lived by Ezra

I think what they are doing is making Ezra closer to the vision of Luke's father
But also, making him suffer the consequences implied as truths by Obi-wan

I half expect Obi-wan will show up at some point, and Ezra's life will half inspire what he says to Luke.
I think they'll do that to bridge the Canon of Anakin, with the perspective of Ezra, so you can see where he sees Vader inside Esra.

All I know is, its not a character they pulled out of thin air, I expect them to try to make Ezra fill in the holes.

Tricky question...as he was approved in the temple by our green little old friend that speaks weird.
The little green dude would have a terrible scoresheet...3 jedis that he in some way approved to be the right stuff.
One would imagine he would stay away from these matters...lol

I would not be suprised if Ezra goes darkside and guts the Inquisitor. In a way it would be cool if Ezra is Serkis baddie in the force awakens.Old dude...looking like a zombie...mighty jacked up on the dark side of the force.

If Anakin was too old to be trained at the age of 11-12 I'm assuming he way, and Ezra is currently 15-16 I'm assuming, and Anakin turned into Darth Vader, what'll happen to Ezra? I'm just guessing because he could turn to the dark side(hopefully he does, the dark side rules). He's already showing dark side powers in between E-07 and 09 I think when he summons the big dark bat monster thingy.

The dark side should be redefined. Practically every light warrior jedi in Star Wars uses anger to overcome any dark lord. Just think about. When Obi Wan didn't use it, he was killed by Vader. Anger is not the dark side, if used for good. Ezra didn't do anything bad. Why those talks he uses dark side. He uses the Force for good. Obi Wan also used the force to make the animal on Geonosis obey his orders and attack .,..Jango Fet? But that was considered mastery, not dark side.

In all, the judgment of Jedi council was very obscure of what the dark side is. Certainly they did not consider it possible for it to appear among themselves. And that happened. So I question the definition and the practical recognition of such dark side. It should be unbiased, and not following the definition by an already failed Jedi council. As a result of their own delusions they lost the Republic, the 10,000 members jedi, and the Order. Perhaps they should have included training of young jedi how to use the Force without being made evil. How to use the anger when needed. How a young inexperienced Jedi such as Ezra should use natural forces, to at least stop a dark lord if not to kill him. But the Jedi didn't teach that. They didn't teach how to recognize dark lord or how to defeat him. They made politics all the time. They even played generals. To lose all of them together in one day.

I hope Ezra will receive training better than that.

I'll vote neither. He'll not finish his training and not fall the darkside.

It's strange to think that Ezra and Luke are nearly the same age. These rebels only have five years before a new hope and because of that i think Ezra has to go either into solitude or be turned.

I'm betting on severing the connection with the force, or falling to the dark side, I'm more inclined to the latter because they already hinted at that on a few ocasions, it would dramatically shift the tone of the series if that happened and the possibility of Kanan confronting Ezra after he's fallen is just.... I can't even.... EMOTIONS, emotions everywhere!

I think Ezra ties into TFA either as the leader of the jedi order when Luke goes missing or as the big bad. Maybe he starts the Knights of Ren?

I think Ezra will either finish his training, or will not ONLY because Kanan is killed, but he will NOT turn to the Dark side. I also believe Ezra will live on to hate the Empire, as he should but will become anonymous as an act of self preservation. I'd like to see him emerge from the shadows as a Jedi in the ST.

Luke's the last jedi. . Either Ezra turns or dies. He could be some rogue or start the Knights of Ren. But very unlikely.

Considering the source, I'll respectfully disagree......The Final Jedi as far as Kylo Ren KNOWS of. That's where I'm at....there are more Jedi, just watch! ;)

    ************** Maybe Spoilers ******************

During the Siege of Lothal, minister Tua said the Emperor went to Lothal for a secret reason and the camera is centering on Ezra.

Palpatine has a plan for Ezra and I think Mara Jade will be involved in this.

She will seduce him and try to bring him to the Emperor and then who knows.

I don't think he will fall to the dark side, however I do think it would be interesting if he did and the Knights Of Ren tied into his story somewhere.

I think we will most likely see him becoming a Grey Jedi similar to Qui-gon.
