Will The Mandalorian be great with or without The Child?

For a few episodes, definitely.

 

Yeah, a few episodes at the absolute most. Baby Yoda is this show's bread and butter.

However, I do have a morbid curiosity as to how culture would react if Moff Gideon kills Grogu. I honestly don't know if the world could emotionally handle that in 2020. It could possibly be the straw that breaks the camel's back of the world.

The child is integral part of the show, providing the main plot and binding the stories together. If the child is not in the show it will be a completely different show. Yet I believe we will be still watching it and liking it and commenting it here so yes, it is possible to have a mandalorian show without the child.

 

For a while I figured it may just be part of Din's journey to have Grogu with someone who would take care of him. I believe we've gotten to the point that this may not be possible. The show has dug down far into Din being Grogu's father as a clan of two and as Ahsoka has mentioned Grogu's attachment to Din is strong to the point that Grogu not being with Din leads to fear. Unless we want a Darth Grogu in the future it may be best to leave this great father / son relationship intact. It's starting to show promise on how chemistry and dialogue between them is evolving. I expect it to only get better as the story progresses. Due to the age of Grogu considering his race as well his future beyond Din, to me what would make the most sense if perhaps at the end of the whole story arc, someone like his mother received the message from Tython and connects with him that was still in hiding. I can picture in the end Din Djarin may bring Grogu back to Tython to try again. I really can't see many other options for these two to be split up. That either doesn't throw fans into an uproar, or upset the existing Star Wars timeline as we know it. I have faith Filoni and Favreau will get it right whatever happens.

 

Joke about making a real Mandalorian baby, instead of carrying someone else's around.

Luke got Grogu message and will show up to save him and bring him into his future academy. Perhaps Kylo kills Grogu.

I adore Grogu as much as anyone else does, but honestly I'm looking forward to hopefully getting more episodes focused on reclaiming Mandalore and the inevitable introduction of a bigger villain such as Thrawn. Plus we still don't know what happened to the other Mando's from S1, including The Armorer who is clearly a person of some importance.

We'll be seeing plenty more of Grogu though, I reckon.

Sending Grogu away for an extended period works in the shows favor. it can actually make Din a character now

 

The child is bringing a Force aspect to the show, I think it's important in Star Wars.
