SPECULATION Will We See Lando in the First Trailer?

I may be the only one who's hoping not to see Lando at all.... Not in the trailer....not in the movie.

I like the guy, but unless he's really part of the story, and not just there to be 'hey! a character you saw before!' then I would rather he just sit it out.

I always figured he wasn't in 7 and 8 simply because he had gone to do other stuff. I don't need to see how his arc plays out. I don't need to see how he dies. He just went to do some other stuff somewhere.

(I take it all back if Lobot shows up too. That was one bad bald hombre)

Side note: Extra points if he gets the Falcon back in the end and pops open his recorder a la "Solo" and starts dictating on how he is the rightful owner yet again. Extra points for that nonsense. At least three.

 

Points aside, clearly the Falcon belongs to Rey now. Right? With Chewie as co-pilot? Is Chewie going to leave once this is over? Or is he still going to be hanging around? Co-piloting the Falcon with Rey? Who just happens to understand him. And can modify the Falcon. And she has the force. Like she's half Solo half Skywalker. It's like, if Han and Leia had a daughter. But they didn't. So. Why am I even bringing it up?

But in some sense I do actually like the idea of Lobot showing up alongside Lando. Standing around, pointing orders at people and things. It'd be a nice flourish as long as they're bringing Lando in.

 

You can guarantee that Lando will be in the first Episode 9 trailer, just as Suited Darth Vader was in the first Episode 3 trailer. AOTC and TLJ sort of divided the fanbase (in different ways) and they will throw everything but the kitchen sink to get fans hyped for the last Saga movie.

 

The real question is if he's in the trailer, does he say something like "Hello what have we here" or some other type of OT shout out?

 

I hope so. Seems like a more natural fit than something like Hux revealing some new scary FO tech and him saying "This deal's getting worse all the time", or one of his other quotes.

 

If Kathy Kennedy is still running Lucasfilm there is no way that line is being repeated in a 2019 SW movie.
