I have to admit with the creation of Disney+ I'm less inclined to watch these films multiple times in the theater. I have see TROS 3 times, but that's enough.

    TFA: 2
    TLJ: 2
    TROS: 3

For me the sequel trilogy is insanely rewatchable, especialy TFA, which is my favorite.

This is an interesting question, because it has more to do with watchability than quality.

In that sense, Last Jedi is actually near the bottom of my list. If I just want to watch a Star War and have fun, I would go to any of the other prequels, originals or sequels first.

So yes, I will probably watch TROS more.

I’ve only seen it 4 times so far. I’ve been really sick. Feeling better. Planning on a fifth time next week.

Who here has seen it the most?

Probably less, but not because I didn't like it. I definitely did like it.
But it's VERY rare for me to see the same movie more than once in the theater these days. I saw TLJ twice because I saw it when it first came out, and then about a month later because a date wanted to see it. But if she hadn't suggested it, I wouldn't have gone again. These days, movies become available to watch at home so quickly, so even when I like a movie (I liked TLJ), I don't feel much incentive to go to the theater multiple times. I remember when the OT was first released, watching it in the theater multiple times was normal because you didn't know when you'd be able to see it again after it left the theater. That's no longer the case.
So I've seen TROS once, enjoyed it, and look forward to watching it again at home in a few months.

Before TLJ, the last movie I saw more than once at the theater was Episode 3. Saw it twice.

One big advantage to only seeing a movie once in the the theater is that it's more exciting when you get to watch it again at home. It still feels fresh and new.

Anyway, sorry for a pointlessly long answer to a simple question!

    [TL:DR version: Less ;)]

This thread is a good example of why online polls are unreliable. Based on the box office people are watching TROS much less than TLJ.

ROS is heading for a Solo like count of two, maybe a 3rd is possible.

Everything else we are talking a 5 view minimum.

I don't dislike either but they are lesser quality efforts to my taste. Rise at least isn't ancillary material like the prequels and Solo (which I enjoy more than the prequels but it has a similar lack of weight in my mind) but that is closer to being forced not to be than anything.

The first Star Wars saga to me is Rogue One through Rise of Skywalker or maybe R1 through Last Jedi with Rise being a messy epilogue depending how it holds up to views over time.

    TFA: 4x
TLJ: 3x (I love the film but waited for the digital release to see it again)
TRoS: 4x ( I might see it again in 4DX because my 3rd viewing of TLJ was in 4DX and I had a good time).

I usually try my best to watch a Star Wars film in every format available to me: Digital, IMAX, IMAX 3D, RealD 3D, and 4DX.

I watched it once in the theater.

Would never pay to see it again... in any format.

I wouldn't even pay to see a 'Special Edition' theatrical re-release.*

With that being said, I've watched TROS many times at home since I first got a copy.

It's difficult for me to watch it all the way through, so I watch only the parts I enjoy.

Truth be told, I always end up just re-watching TLJ instead... even more so now.

*The one exception to this would be if they used the original ending that was filmed where a redeemed Ben Solo lives to join Rey on Tatooine for the burial of the Skywalker Sabers.

I just saw TROS for the 12th time. I watched TLJ 5 times in theaters and TFA only once in a theater. I find that I really love TROS a lot. Sometimes if I really, really enjoyed a film I will watch it more than once. But only over 2 times if I find that it gave me quite a rush and I can't stop thinking about it. TROS I couldn't stop thinking about it for a week. I also find that I enjoy watching it in theaters, because of the sound and cinematography and environment.

It's funny, but despite multiple viewings I have yet to become bored by it. I love the themes: heroism and in deciding who you are and who you are going to be (and I am just referring to Rey's last name) that impacts how you feel and you will act. I like the storytelling and the fact that they often went to the edge in many instances.. they didn't jump off. But the fact that they went there was great. And a rare treat in these days of paint-by-numbers storytelling. And I would be shamed if I didn't mention I loved the evolution of Rey. And I mean all of it, from her maturing from a brave but still reckless and naive girl. To a confident and more calm young woman who owns herself. Yet who is still susceptible to demons. She was so fully human.

I have often found that the greatest pieces of art come across like living breathing things. And that they should impact the consumer. And I get that with ROS.

12th time? :D Hat's off to you, @Veronica! I'm impressed; you deserve a cooky! :) My measly 3 viewings pale in comparison with you

Are there any deep points or clues or revelations you caught on you 10th+ viewing that you didn't get on the first few? The film sure is packed with stuff!

Instead of a cookie. I'd love to be able to have 15 minutes with JJ Abrams or Daisy RIdley how they came up with character development for Rey in TROS. Because that just blew my mind. Instead of having her play/behave the same way across all three films. She was allowed to change and evolve, learn from her mistakes and grow. She came across more like a flesh and blood human being not a plastic barbie doll.

I can't say I didn't think of anything big that stood out for me on my last viewing.

But there are two things I noticed and thought about. When it came to Finn, instead of having him play the angry/out of control Black guy who goes over board in trying to show how tough he is. He became the wise and stable friend (without being heavy handed) who tried to talk Rey down from doing something stupid. Or allowing Poe to go over board. I mean I praise the film for Rey's change and character growth. But Finn also evolved and grew as well in an organic way. He managed to take the lousy circumstances from his childhood and make him better. It's even a change from how he was at the end of TLJ and wanted to plough his plane into the FO cannon because he was angry.

The second, I mean Iove Rey to bits, she's one of my top 5 favourite heroines/characters . But it wasn't until I saw this film and read some posting from fans that I saw her weaknesses. We all know of her insecurities and self -esteem issues she experienced as a result of abandonment /rejection from her parents. But I was really blinded to other of her problems due to the resilience she's shown in surviving by herself. But it masked other problems for me as well. Including her naivety and impassivity.

I was watching the throne room scene where Snoke told her about the force bond he created between her and Ren. And the fact that she just went into the trap without thinking. And it's almost as if a switch went off in Rey's head. As if to say, yeah that was dumb, I have to stop allowing my emotions to make decisions for me and think things through. I think that is what partly what makes her seem so different in ROS. She' s far more calm and mature.

Anyway thanks for asking. I will probably make it a bakers dozen and see it again.

Sounds like you were not that impressed on how Rian Johnson handled her character or the character development taking place in Tfa and Tlj and why wonder why this is? Because to my to mind she has never been a plastic barbie doll in none of these films.

I would argue she actually regresses rather than advances. This video touches on it: Rey's fear of not belonging of being alone is replaced by a fear of being a Palpatine and too powerful.

I'm in a wierd place with TROS right now, because I actually think it is one of the more rewatchable movies in the saga, despite not being anywhere near my favorite movie of the 9. (It's not even on my top 5-list)

My favorite of the ST is TLJ, but i only saw it at the cinema 2 times, compared to TFA and TROS, both of which I saw 3 times. I think it probably has something to do with the pacing. I will keep watching them all on Blu-Ray in the coming years anyway.

To play armchair psychologist for a moment, I think the reason TROS feels that way is because it's made up of cool moments that don't require the viewer to stay tuned in to understand or validate those moments. So if you're fixing dinner and throw it on? No big deal. You got the gist. Cleaning for company later? Throw it on and it won't matter too much if you can't hear it over the vacuum. Just my .02 because I don't inherently disagree that it might be "more rewatchable" even though it's easily my least favorite of the new films.

I can see where you're coming from. TROS has a lot of action scenes that are chock full of background details, making it fun to watch.

The action scenes are also so common and often weightless that they're easy to half pay attention to- great for chilling on the couch with your phone later once it's released (not a dig at it, btw- sometimes that makes for a fun night).

I'd imagine TROS will get played more than TLJ at our house- though, now that the sequel trilogy is complete, I think we're in order for a marathon sometime soon.

Maybe in the pool, like we did last 4th of July!

JJ and Terrio are hacks yet I have to admit when Rey held that troop transport on Pasaana and unleashed force lighting I was moved. TRoS is indeed flawed but it's still watchable. Not the end of a saga I wanted but closure to this sequel trilogy. Now we will be bombarded with millions of Youtube videos outlining how awful TRoS is I'm not gonna fall into that mayhem. I learned my lesson with TFA and how Rey is a Mary Sue etc... I still say DoTF would have been a more fitting end to the sequel trilogy. KK left her mark it's time for her to move on... move along Kathy. You did your best... MTFBWUA
