    The staff she learns to use is her destiny and doesn't even know it. She will have trained herself because of having to survive in such a harsh environment. Not fully trained I just mean because of how she has to survive. I guess Luke will then teach her to unlearn what she learned and use the force.

    She didn't grow up there... she's there on a mission or is in hiding. That's my take on it. She's been trained. Not self-taught.

    I know this is nit-picky as all hell, but I really hope that when Rey uses her staff, she doesn't do all of the posing. I think it looks cool, but it just screams kung-fu movie.

    Oh I don't think she will. Would be completely out of place.

    Also, if you look at the way she wears her clothing, it definitely has a jedi look to it...her "sash" crosses but it's still very reminiscent of a jedi.

    I hope that she doesn't make any funny noises while fighting. Nothing would kill a fight scream like Rey screaming "CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIYAAAAAAAAA! ATATATATATA! WA-TOAH!" over Daisy Ridley and Chloe Bruce's combined badassery.

    OK, So Daisy received all this training with her weapon...who is she fighting so much? Not just in TFA, but on the planet/backstory, who has she been fighting all these years? I'm sure being a scavenger is no easy life but is Jakku that rough? And in TFA who is she going to be fighting? I can't recall reading any scene descriptions of Rey fighting on Jakku.

    Way back when, there were suggestions that after Finn crash-lands in the desert and drops his Stormtrooper armor, he is ambushed by scavengers after wandering aimlessly for a period of time. Rey comes to his rescue.

    I think this scenario still might be in the movie yet, given that we see Rey help Finn up from the ground in the second teaser.

    There was an extra who worked on the film in Abu Dhabi that described a fight or conflict scene of some sort. This is a person whose name and face I know so that's why I don't link to it in case of NDA skirting. Keep in mind this was a rare (in comparison to a lot of the other languages of the world) language and Google translate has possibly messed it up:

    For a while I thought it was referring to Finn, but maybe it's Rey and it messed up the pronouns of this language.

    Didn't MSW - the only real source on that particular rumor - just say that the freighter isn't actually in the movie and that they meet up on a planet?

    In that scene the tents in the background seem to have been blown to pieces so it's probably the first tie fighter run before they run into the falcon.

    I haven't seen that or heard that in any of the recent podcasts. The last I heard him comment on it was when he was saying the "Chewy we're home" line might be meant to warn the stowaways.

    While I don't expect that this movie will be a complete rehash of the Original Trilogy (and it doesn't look like it will be), I do expect a lot of familiar ground to be covered in a different way.
