    Or intense.

Or it would display their natural abilities.

Or it would serve as a reminder that "using the force" is something that people who are force sensitive do naturally. As in "He sees things before they happen that's why his reflexes appear to be so fast . . . its a jedi trait."

Have you never seen movies where normal folks face opponents that out match them and they are forced to adapt and the seen showcases their instincts, and cleverness. Like crushing a terminator in a compactor, dropping a have door on a Rancor monster, hitting someone with a car, crushing an AT-AT with logs . . . well those would never happen in SW right. ;)

Anything is possible but I still think it's unlikely. Your examples are interesting but I don't think they are a good analogy, would you imagine Luke fighting Vader in a ANH? He barely starts to understand how to use the force in ESB and that's more than a year afterwards if I remember correctly.

You will find that a great many of my posts are about providing examples of how things go if people did not limit their assumptions. I offer options and examples simply to stress that there exist workable and exciting options that are still wide open. The idea that only a trained Jedi could face Ren assumes a number of things. First it precludes they might use an unorthodox method, like dropping a door on the rancor. Second it assumes that Ren is already a master himself and not some other kind of villain, in other words it assumes his growth is already complete.

As for Luke you are right it was a significant amount of time, though his training with Yoda was not long and his course of action was advised against for the same reasons you are raising. So while it is not advisable, unwise and likely deadly that does not mean that it would not be attempted. Perhaps Han painted "never tell me the odds" on Rey's nursery walls.

I like the pig poker. It suits her needs on the planet. a lighsaber only shines when facing another one.
The resemblance in some parts means nothing. nobody would draw a line from Mace Windu lightsaber to Mauls, but they look similar because they share the same parts.
It would add more gravitas to her lighsaber phobia, to not use a lighsaber until she is really fine with it and it wouldn´t make sense to try to give her lukes saber if she already has a saber.
And ultimatly, we know how Mauls Lighsaber ended, a lighsaber Staff is even more vulnerable and cut to shreds in a second during a fight.

In the new canon he faced Vader before ESB, this is how they show a development.

I don't think Ren is a master, I actually think Rey is better trained than him. I agree that they could use an unorthodox method against Kylo but at least that's not what I was talking about I was talking about a proper lightsaber duel. I think it is highly probable that we are going to see a proper lightsaber duel in this movie like in all the others and for that fight to be interesting the opponents need to have a similar skill level. I think someone using a lightsaber in a fight without any training at all would actually be more danger to himself than the opponent. I also think it doesn't make any sense for Rey to fight with that stick if she is not a trained jedi and has a clear advantage over opponents who might be carrying blasters.

The concept art of her on Jakku always show a stick. The concept art of her in scenes with snow show a sabre. I think that it is likely that as a salvage hauler she needs something to prod pig things and beat other scrappers away. This does not mean she has no skill. From reports she is quite skilled just not using a sabre at the start.

I really hope her staff isn't part lightsaber. That's just a little to much for me personally.

if the rumours are right and she is repulsed by lukes sabre when it's brought out, i seriously doubt she is carrying one around purposely. Being a scavenger i'd say if the staff comes apart to show a sabre then she'd know about it. I'd speculate that it's either just a staff or something used in her line of work.

Okay I know, I know. At this point we all can guess that Daisy Ridley is a solo. This video all but confirms it for me. Don't know if all of you seen this video by now but I thought it couldn't hurt to share.

That laugh after the interviewer asked her about the rumor of her being the daughter of Han Solo! Totally gave it away.

Kathleen Kennedys laugh is a good indicator as well

Well, if you believe that Daisy is a Solo (which I do), is she a bad liar or is she being coy? If she is lying and we can all see through it, does that speak to her acting ability and her role for at least the first half of TFA where she's trying to make the audience believe that she is just some scavenger on Jakku?
