Yep I would get that feeling for the next movie if it happens.

 

I think she will fight ataru style.

 

Not sure where I should post this either... lol ... I heard about this and I finally tracked this down... wasn't easy (even though its on youtube) ... interesting

Anyone know anything about this movie? I heard it was filmed couple years ago and is in production limbo.... but that's all i've heard....

 

Daisy can be quite creepy sometimes...

 

Firstly, I find it a little disheartening that people are more concerned over Rey's Kung fu style, rather than the script and the acting. Secondly, we know less than nothing of her fighting style (totally irrelevant at this point), but you can pick one of these



Edit- just to add, thinking about things of this nature is like watching game of thrones for the costume design.

 

We know that she became very proficient in bo-jutsu, so we have some clues.

 

You're correct and I am sorry OP. I just feel like we have bigger concerns than fighting styles et al.
We've come from the prequels, arguably some of the worst movies ever, to today. We shouldn't lose sight of what's important.

 

Surely if she wields a staff we might see her construct a staff saber.. not like Mauls but more of a polearm. I'm sure i've seen them in the EU and "Jedi" no longer have a council or anyone telling them what they can and can't use.

 

Duel with polearm type weapon (or lightsaber) can really look quite impressive.

Speculation and invention of jedi forms to my knowledge were done after the fact based on what was seen in the films and some comparison to real world martial arts and imagination. If the question is whether or not the stunt coordinator of the new films is going to limit themselves to the invented styles used in the now defunct EU I don't see that as likely. I think they will base style on what they always have what works, looks cool and fits the personality of the characters.

Personally I really like the idea that Rey's stuff is already a lightsaber pike, and she's a trained Jedi/Padawan, but on the other hand, her being "just" a proficient "conventional stuff" fighter who is about to get proper Jedi trening is also quite cool.

And going back to original question, as we well know Daisy learned a bo-jitsu, so she will be fighting with stuff, so natural conclusion is Form V - Shien.

 

Its a pig prod intended to move giant stubborn pig thingys so they will drag large bits of salvage. This is why its rusty and made from lower grade metals rather than the shiny stainless metals that you normally see lightsabres made from. Why hide a light sabre on a giant stick which everyone still looks at and thinks "LIGHTSABRE" as soon as they see it. When just dropping 1/8th of the staff sized lightsabre handle will fit in plenty of other places and won't be seen at all. If you go back to the rumors about the sabre it looks like Rey gets it talks to MVS and he puts out a call for buys which brings heat from Kylo Ren. That may be BS (as much we think might be) but if she already has a sabre and non-standard pike design at that why is it so strange a find that she has to go looking for advice on what it is and how to find a buyer.

What it doesn't seem to be is an Electro staff has same ends and Rey's staff has different ends. What it does look like is an Light Saber staff pike. It also seems to look like the one tip could also be a blaster nozzle end. A combo of staff, lightsaber force pike and blaster would be neat. But with Rey being a scavenger of sorts she could piece together the staff from parts of other staffs so it could act as part electro, part blaster, part normal melee staff. Or we could all be fooled and its just a normal staff.

 

Agreed, the most probable outcome is Rey is already trained. A fight between Kylo and Rey/Finn if neither is already trained would be ridiculous.
